well I mean none of my characters has been over the top insane/powerful and perfect adcept Kranzer, but I mean I had him for about my entire time on HGN and I have evolved him from the start. As well Fellow is somewhat anti-social.

I dont think leading a PBG makes you antisocial. Especially since you tell me all your ideas and such usually (Icly)

How did he in anyway mention his PBG be related to that? Don't go off topic.

The majority of you guys make characters focused on visuals, Clothes, styles and stuff. If its not looks, it's based on some ridiculous back stories based on magic (You call it science), eccentric settings and over the top personality issues.

For the love of god, stop making such one dimensional characters! Like I said before, get a god damn imagination.

I agree with you 100%.. You took the words outta my mouth.. My trader= Ugly. Freedom=Ugly.
Stalker=Ugly
Merc=Ugly
Not a single one of my charceters is uber attractive that every girl wants to cyber b0ne

People tend to want to RP as something they're not. So if everyone is making thier characters 6'5" bodybuilders with no family, then what does that say about them?
To loot, lulz and SCIENCE!

Stop posting "Well my character isn't like that." You are just cluttering this topic congratulating yourselves for not breaking rules during character creation.

What else are we meant to post? Still I think we cant always control it completely just encourage. Also if we try to give a good example of a character people might follow and so forth. So talking about a good character might make people want to make a char somewhat like yours. So you don't have to look at it that way Paintcheck. Even though I am not trying to gloat to much and congratulate myself I think giving a example or giving a good example of a char and some things not to do might help other people.

Also one more thing not to get off topic, but if you have some sort of nice gear like a exoskeleton or something or some epic merc helmet...It doesn't make you invincible people like to think having a helmet stops anything from hurting them. I mean sure some of the things stop a bullet and such but it still hurts like a motherfucker and such. No offense Taylor but when you had that steel/Kevlar cup you got kneaded in the nuts and acted like nothing happened.

So basically we could try to help give a example, even if people don't follow it.

If your a mutant and see someone with a  pretty face, mutilate it and then leave them there. See someone whose a tall muscular body builder? Shoot him in the knee cap as a bandit. We need people out there who will hunt people with 'perfect' characters.

That's...actually a really really good idea.

Only problem is getting said idiot to accept being injured which they won't since they already are powergaming. Better to just admin pwn them. Did ban ever get fixed?

my newest character didn't see a dead body until a freedomer killed a dutier who was mortally wounded.
shit got real very fast.

i know i dont play much, but i at least kept some realism and humanity about my characters.

No you're missing my point. You can still have a completely one dimensional character that happens to be ugly, its still a focus on looks.

Personally myself I asspull numbers out of a hat, like Joel is 5'11 and 176Lbs or some shit like that, But I have nothing describing weather or not he is attractive, I mean I have glasses in his title and curly hair. I also did the same for the rest of my chars. What I am getting at is, you don't HAVE to point out rather a person is "Ugly" or "Handsome" I ussally let people imagine what my chars look like by only giving a weight, a height, some hair/eye Description and then I give the char i personallity. For instance, I think people would have imagined my character Tommy as being Extremely attractive due to his confidence and the fact that it seem'd like EVERY chick within' a 100 Mile radius wanted to hang out with him.

Example of one of my titles "136Lbs|5'9|Brown Short Hair|Hazel eyes|Female|Slave Collar" No where in there do I point out that this female is "Attractive" in any way, I ussally allow the other RPer to develope a physical appearance based on what they find out ICly.

Oh boy.
Strap yourselves in, it's time for the great 'obligatory' SRP resurrection of 2013/14/15/16/22

You should know, if you start to describe a character and you get to the part that says female, it will make everyone kid want to RP with you.

Yeah BUT Tommy WASN'T female either, yet alot of people RP'd with him since he was interesting with alot of personallity flaws, I NEVER had ANYWHERE in his title saying "Handsome" or "Sexy", people just percieved Thomas Wainscott as attractive since he was very confident.

QuoteAnyone is black clothes is a bandit. OFC
You mean with?
Cops in real life judge all the time. They'll call you a thug or something if you dress like one.
People made an advertisment calling for help, and I came late and found a guy with a black coat and a guy in a trenchcoat, next to a dead body.  I thought robbery+murder, and told them of my suspicion. They complained that I can't judge them by the way they look, even under the circumstances. There's no rule in Duty about that kind of discrimination, why would we change something that is logical in real life, or even stalker terms.

After the first impression, I didn't like Tommy to much. He kicked my guy in the chest after I tried to help him up.

That is different though Chaos since you have reason to believe that guy is sketchy. What Tom and others are complaining about is when you have someone wearing a trench coat walking down the street doing nothing sketchy looking and get STK'd by idiots because they go "lol clearly a bandit".

You can't really judge people by appearance in the Zone since everyone walks around in tactical gear carrying guns. That is why the "in real life cops judge people by their looks" argument falls flat; because in real life someone walking around wearing a skimask and wielding a gun is not normal and clearly will draw suspicions.

And now you are going to say "Well in SoC all bandits wore trench coats so clearly I can judge based on that". No, you can't. Because if game mechanics like that counted as canon, Military would STK STALKERs on site, the leader of the bloodsuckers wouldn't be a puppy dog, and bandits would be able to STK without people bitching about being DM'd. So you either have all that or you have none of that and since we don't have all of that you cannot make assumptions based solely on peoples' models alone. You CAN make assumptions based on other things (like Chaos mentioned earlier about the dude standing next to the corpse, that is fine) but not based on clothing.

Maybe we should replace the standard player model with a trench coat. That way every new player has a trench.

I don't know, can't stop people from being stupid and paranoid.

On the topic of people judging characters by thier appearance. My Loner char wears a black trenchcoat, and the thing that made me laugh my ass off was when I got kicked out of Duty's base for being a "bandit", although to cover up the metagaming the guy used the excuse "lol i dont like your coat take it off or GTFO". That exact scenario happened a second time. I was forced to take it off, or leave, becuase apparently they where "suspicious" that I was a bandit, even though I had done no suspicious activities, other than watch a few round of arena fights.
To loot, lulz and SCIENCE!

So you are saying no one can be suspicous? If we see you as a suspicous person/don't have the right feeling about you, we might as well kill you/put you in our prison/or just throw you out. We can assume many things and think of many things hence it's our base.

Wait Wait Wait, No No, We're saying its dumb for people to run up to a random person with a trench coat and go "lol u r bandit!" even if the person is CLEARLY just stalkering.
