A bit more serious, why are parents these days such big giant pussies? What happened to the days when smacking your kid around for misbehaving was not only acceptable, but encouraged? When I was little and I screwed up or misbehaved, my parents beat my ass. That was that. Now, while everything doesn't warrant say smacking or whipping with a belt, there are times when the only way he/she will learn is if you bust them in the lip or something.

The problem with kids these days is that by not whipping their ass, they get a skewed perspective of life. Things get a little rough and they think their existence is shattered. You tell them to clean up and they say "no", you smack them. Simple and effective.

Now, what are your thoughts on this? Should parents hit their kids? is whipping your kids ass a sign of bad parenting and irresponsibility?

Yes parents should beat heir kids, There are too many little kids/ teens in this world that can get away with too much crap. For example, I went over to my friends house one day and his little brother was cursing at his mom, she didn't even say anything about it! she just walked off into her room. Now, if that was me in that situation. I would have a black eye and probaly have my bags packed up too.

And it's not a sign of bad parenting and irresponsibility. Your kids will most of time act in public like they do a home. So parents better start wearing that ass out.

There's three of us.

Ian, Jacob, and of course me. We're all friends, and we've been friends since 3rd and 4th grade.

Me and Ian were never beaten. Spanked. Or restricted from doing whatever the fuck we wanted. We were allowed to play video games whenever we won't, go out with friends whenever, stay out late as hell, and whatever. Jacob, however, was not. Jacob was spanked when he did bad things as a young kid. He was restricted, HEAVILY. Shielded from society.

Jacob is the only one out of all of us that gets into a lot of trouble, smokes pot, and drinks alcohol. Me and Ian are clean a whistle.

Another friend of mine, Eric, was born into a highly religious family. Their family follows the bible like hell, but spanks their children. Eric has almost been expelled from school. He stole computers from school. He's failing school. He gets into trouble a fuck ton. He was spanked, and beaten as a child.

Me and Ian were not.

Another friend of mine, Carmine, same thing. Religious family, spanked a lot when he did bad things, etc etc. Same thing. He mixed with the wrong people, and did everything his mother prevented him from doing. Drugs, alcohol, etc.

Me and Ian weren't spanked. Weren't beaten. We were taught.

Beating your kids does nothing but keep them from doing bad things in FRONT of you. They will fuck about when you're not looking.

Spanking your children is BARBARIC. Whoever does it is white trash, or a fucking nigger (There is a difference between a black person and a nigger, FYI). So don't do it. It's horrible, it's wrong, and if I was the Government, I'd fine families 2000 dollars for doing it and take their children away. It's fucking retarded.

Beating works in some situations, IE involving blatant disrespect. In other situations, its best to ground, and in still others, the best course of action is to let the kid fuck up and see why you told him not to do it.

You need to instill discipline, but not so harshly that it counteracts itself.

My younger siblings are almost never disciplined. As a result of this they scream, bitch, never do what they are asked to do, and are general pussies.

I suppose a certain amount of Discipline is needed to keep them in line, and out of trouble, some little bastards out there deserve a good smack, you know, the ones who hit their own parents, disrespect them, and are generally out of order.

I know man, its stupid how society has derailed so badly to have people wearing their pants so low it looks like their going to fall down at any moment. I don't get beat, instead my parents punish me in other ways. I learn from my mistakes and don't do the stupid crap they tell me not to. Parents should learn to punish their children in other ways instead of beating them. Ground them, take the stuff they like away from them, make them unable to do anything but lay in their bed and stare into a wall instead of constantly beating a child when he/she makes a mistake and causing psychological damage that will cause the child to grow up into a murder or an outcast of society.

Well my friends little brother has never been beatin as far as I know and he is the most annoying little bastard you could ever meet. I mean he bitches if you tell him to go away, cries so loud it hurts your ears when you push him or somthing, and then will blame shit on me and his brother when he doesnt get what he wants.

I was always beaten when I did something bad, but I wasn't beaten for everything, mind you. For example, if I had a cookie before dinner, I was just told not to do it. And I didn't do it anymore.

However...I once called my mom a bitch when I was in the fifth grade. Good GOD my ass cheeks were sore. Most people got the feather duster, or the leather belt. I got the belt BUCKLE.

But, this sort of affected me. For a year or so, I thought I was being abused because the media told me, "If parents ever physically discipline their kids, they'll turn into horrible mental trainwrecks." But, I was thinking about it from a parent's view after that year, and saw my cousin's kids...

These kids are never disciplined. They scream and cry for what they want. They're given PS3s for nothing, really, and have pretty much five or so hand-held game systems. PSPs, DSes, just to name a few. These kids even HIT their parent! My lord, I HATE them even now. If you tell them to stop, they'll do the exact opposite, and try to piss you off. It's like their little maschoists.

It might be because they're missing their father figure, as he left my cousin. She lives with her parents, who take care of the kids while she goes to medical school.

I think parents should be able to raise their kids to be smart and to know things. If you raise your child right, they shouldn't have to be physically harmed. That is just my opinion.
