[Old] How Can We Improve Your FALLOUT Roleplay Experience?

Personally I'd like to see some new weapons and armor. I know Picto Wolf has been designing a gatling canon, for instance. However, new weapons and armor could have the *exact* same stats as some existing content for all I care. It's more about the variety to spice up the roleplay rather than having new/better guns/armor.

I still have that list of stuff we could use if you're interested in looking. Much can just be ported from SRP and renamed, and it'd still be canon in Fallout, such as the LR-300 (rename to M4 Carbine or just Carbine), the Kabar (rename to Combat Knife), and the Black Kite (rename to Desert Eagle).

Maybe if nothing else, at least some new props to play with? Basically I'd like to see Fallout RP developed a little more.

I'll go into detail later through private messages, Teamspeak, or Steam if you like. Meanwhile I'm sure that with this renewed interest in FRP, we'll be getting plenty of feedback not only on what new content we want, but how people would like to see things run. I'll be paying attention to this thread.

Silver Knight

Cleared myself. Stop posting rants about frp. Keep that kinda shit elsewhere or don't rant at all, this is a fresh start for FRP, it's not fair to shoot it down because of the direction it took for awhile.

I think that, overall, FORP is a great thing with minor issues. Simple things like accuracy issues, model sharing, and so on. It would be nice to see, for example, combat armor on someones actual model, rather than everyone looking like the same weird bald guy. Another nice thing would be laser rifles shooting straight. I could flesh out a bit more on specifics if needed, but I just thought I'd touch base on the idea of small corrections.

In checking the development logs on the server, it's disappointing to see the lack of activity for a very long time, and I think that with just a little bit more, the gamemode could be set for quite a while. You've got something excellent here, Exile.

How about we make the combat armor with the Operation: Anchorage balaclava. That'd be good for a combat armour.

Maybe Gang locations with approval, if enough people are group up and capture a area they can run it but if another gang wants that area both gangs can agree to fight.

Make a mandate that the canon can no longer change ever. Unless the entire FO community wants it to change, otherwise. . . No. Because looking back at the last 3 or 4 times we changed canon it never solved anything. It just continue to remain semi-dead. Pick a time and an Area, and stay there. (Preferably pick a time and area that isn't generic and not like the rest of the FO servers)

Contrary to popular belief, I completely agree with this.

Make it so everyone has to know what they're doing before joining the server, I've already run into people who think this is Dark rp.

A new quiz would do the trick, rather than "Yes, I will" "Okay" "Sure" "Aight"

Yep, I personally think just changing the quiz to be a little harder would make for better role players to join the server.

Spades_Neil

Yea, I've noticed this to be a slight moderate issue with newcommers more-so than before. I agree that we should redo the quiz a little bit. Plus perhaps add a bit more to the rules. Done.

I'll talk to Blake about making some amendments to the rules.

Plunger

The servers locked, what's the problem with the rules then.

I personally want to bring a totally new way of playing Fallout Roleplay that can be used on Crussaria. Fallout roleplay relies on survival and not 100% on shooting. In Stalker, shooting 100% is justified because it is the zone where danger is the weather forecast. In fallout you are mostly just scavenging and hoping that you don't die of radiation poison, starvation, thirst, etc.
Now you are probably saying, Get on with it now. My idea is that you treat fallout like DnD. Every week the admin team get together and write a story and build the server according to their story. Then the admin team advertises the day. On the day, everyone gets starting equipment and everyone can make up their own backstory. This way we can have elite bos soldiers and NCR ranger bounty hunter.

Please give me feedback on this idea.

Well aside from the mention of NCR, because we didn't just change canons this time (we completely erased them and we're going to pretend they never existed), this is otherwise a potentially interesting idea. A theme of the week, shall we say? Assuming of course I am interpreting this correctly. Now the real tricky part is just coming up with ideas that could span a whole week.

Long story short, I like this idea. What do the rest of you think?

Pepsigod

I like it, I can create a OOC weather forecast for the week etc, I'll get started on it now.

Silver Knight

DnD has no place in roleplay. What your saying simply defeats the point of progressional characters. Your asking for free items to instantly make a character.

I think he's mostly just getting at the idea of a "quest of the week" to spice things up.

Pretty much what I think too. "Event of the week to give people interesting shit to do that is fallout related for a weeks time"

That should happen anyway. On all 3 of our servers.

I approve of your weather thread however it'll likely remain alot of the time the same due to how fucked the world is in Fallout.
Today its quite hot, theres no rain, alot of sand and quite afew angry mutants with sle- I should probably stop broadcasting and run.  HOWEVER, you should get a radio station going much like three dawgs (We've already forgot that guy.) radiostation.  Hell, we would be able to use the character to spread news, tell storys and direct events by using rumours, for example. "Rumours have spread fast an super mutant has been moving around the lake holding oil while traveling with two ghouls, crazy day eh?"

I love it. We're in the Fallout 3 world now, so we can do that. Just cast an /event "Threeeeeee Dawwwwg, what's up kids? Coming to you LIVE from the downtown DC ruins!" then go on to talk about whatever fuckery is happening in the Step Jaw Valley. :D

How would he know what's going on in Step Jaw is a mystery. He would prolly talk about DC but w/e.

Oh yeah, make a "local" major faction for Step Jaw valley, it'll make the game more interesting (diplomacy). Or you can always encourage players to make their own factions, take town for themselves and be considered factions to be dealing with. How, it depends on the factions.

That's a brilliant Idea, I do believe it should be done.

Plunger

People have already tried the broadcast deal and it always turns out lame. Try to promote more passive rp since right now it's mostly action.
