I actually haven't kept up to date on this ever since the Mechwarrior reboot died. I know MWO is the same people changing the concept, is it still going to be set in 3015 before the Clan invasion? If so

3048 was the year at the 2011 reveal. 3049 will be the year on launch.

Flipping through the manual that Mechwarrior 4 Vengeance came with, how come no company does manuals like this any more? It's like 80 pages of in-character descriptions of all the weapons and mechs in the game. I then looked at my Crimson Skies manual, which is laid out like a comic book (also entirely in-character) and my Combat Flight Simulator manual which is about 300 pages of the same.
I blame console kiddies.
