i saw some other ones, black leather trench coats with hoods as well that look similiar to that from stalker but i can't find the pic now..
How about the bandit coats with the hood down like in the intro to SoC the guy that takes you to the trader wears it.

That, is a poncho Torch. No sleeves, doesn't reach the ankles. Not a trench coat. Not what bandits wear.
The trench coat that bandits wear are proper trench coats, with hoods too.
The one's that bandits wear are reinforced with plated armour under the sleeves btw.
As well as 'Kevlar Elements' in the leather itself. I believe that the bandits have a stab-vest or something thin that could withstand a few shots from pistol-sized bullets.

Even so, it's said that the trench coats are still not up to the zones standard in protection.
I always think of The Matrix when Trenchcoats appear in a subject.
I think it's a nice contribution but unnecessary.
But that bandit leather makes you look cool and sexy. But when I think of trenchcoats and stalker usally bandits come to mind. Thats why if your a stalker and dont want to be considered a bandit dont wear one.
