Title: Technican Concept

I figured i would put this on paper.

So we start off with our technican, players can apply, like trader to be a technican, traders can be both with technican being the easier to get into. The point of technicans is to upgrade gear such as suits or weapons to be better, have scopes or upgrades.

Technicans will have 4 tiers, tier 1 having basic skills and tier 4 having advanced expert skills.

Example of a recipe.

What this means is there will be a wide variety of upgrades avaliable out there, technicans can roleplay out the development of the items they produce, earn abit of cash and maybe roleplay abit for tools and such. There are a toolset per each tier and as shown above theres a very small 1 in 100 times, chance that your tools are lost in the process.

Technicians/Traders should be in the same subsection along with anything else of this sort. I'm all for the idea's and tiering system.

I don't think that Trader/Technicians should be the same people. They'd buy their parts and charge for the parts AND the service. It's just completely unnecessary and to be honest, another minor faction like that would be good for more spots for people. I'd hate to see traders who practically built their whole backstory on being good at barter, to suddenly say, "Oh yeah, and I can build things, too!". Anyway, I'd love to see this stuff implemented. We've got a lot of people being active, anyway, so why not?

Repairing would probably be a lot more complex than attachments. Besides, attaching a NATO scope can be done by anyone.

Eh. They'd have to either: Overcharge the attachments out the ass, make very few people technicians, or make it hard to get higher tiers. Otherwise, we'll have every Freedomer, Dutier, and rich stalker running around with Grozas and grenade launchers and silencers attached to their guns. We should have some sort of regulation system.

To make grenade launchers barely used there's a simple solution. Make them and the ammo cost a lot.

Well before the wipe, there were tools - some schematics.
And it was just fine, if someone was technician he had some backstory for it.

And technician can't be anyhow abused - unlike trader :L

People can be traders without application - they don't have connections.
People can be technicians without application - they don't have some of the knowledge they need to do more complicated things.

Wrong.
Traders have to apply to get connections, and because such position can be abused.
Technicians have to apply just to tell us WHERE they got the knowledge of fixing/modifing stuff.

But yeah, traders apply, they get flags - will technicians get tools if they apply?

What I'm hearing is that it requires a master technician to put a scope on a rifle? Okay. Or it takes a master technician to cover up a scrape on a gun? Okay.

Very good idea. As I am a Freedom Technician, and have been for about almost a year, maybe even a little more, will I be able to apply immediately or is this something brand new that you couldnt be before?
