Trader Suggestions and Ideas
Have a suggestion ? Or maybe an Idea ?
Well post it here, and we'll see how to put it at use.
Make missions traders. I am extremely frustrated by the amount of you who think that being a trader means you get to make money, buy Exos and FNs for yourself and then act like a loner. Use the money you make to create jobs and events for STALKERs, not for personal gain. If you can't handle that I will be happy to deflag you and remove all your trader money so you can be a normal loner.
Don't sell things at base price, don't tell base price, don't even mention the word base price. . . Im sick of trading and having something at a decent price where I still make a profit and someone saying "Well so and so will sell it to me for *Censor base Price* I also hate it when traders buy things to where they can sell it directly into trader menu. . . also Traders should not activly engage in combat enless they are attacked.
Traders should also be polite to there customers, like a real life buisness man/woman would, I mean which would you rather buy from? The person who says "How can I help ya broski?" and "Have a nice day." Or the person who goes "Hey you dumbass faggot, what would you like to buy with your worthless toliet paper money?" and "See you later Dick licker!" notice the differences and tell me hounestly. . . Who would you rather buy from? (Question not meant to be answered do not answer on this board)
I have in mind some little changes to do, to force all traders to do some more missions. But I can't do nothing untill Exile actually allows me to do some changes.
And if you spot Traders who dare to get in a fight, they are getting their flagged removed.
The only reason Traders should be fighting is because they are being attack and in that case they should Hire Merc or somthing. I also think traders who buy EXO's and FN's should be forced to put the money back into the system. By doing jobs and if they say I spent all my money on my gear then say "You should of thought of that before." its like the rich stay rich and the poor stay poor.

NO! They Should not be attacked AT ALL, Nor should they fight

That would result in traders fucking around everywhere and abusing it because they know they can't get attacked anyways.

Traders should stay at their base or trader location, Only leaving to make jobs and such,
no, your trader took business away from my trader so I got authed to put a hit on you, but you left before you were killed. Shit like that is why trader can be allowed to be killed for a good reason.

AKA, I got more people, So you sent STALKERs to kill me. Which is stupid, Name one time traders fought in the games
Traders never fought in the games ebcause they are AI and because they kept their distance if a trader is going to steal another traders buisness the trader who is loosing buisness is going to do what ever he needs to get it back, Even if it means killing you.
Like goose said, Traders will do whatever they need to get business. In stalker most people are criminals so it can be assumed that traders have some criminal connection or background, wether they're smugglers or black marketers, they aint afraid to play dirty by hiring mercs to kill another trader or halt their business for their own gain.

I disagree. Traders already buy exos and participate in fights too much as it is. We don't need to be sanctioning trader wars.
Spam cleaned up. No one cares what kind of suit you use.
Traders just flat out shouldnt be participating in fighting unless -Forced- not rush and gun, That is what they have money for, to hire mercs to fight for them, but traders are going to kill each other its a part of the server, But it would be nice if -ALL- Traders never got involved in fights that means faction traders neutral every trader, because of their damn armour they can rambo pretty much anyone.

I dont like being killed since my trader spot is better and since i sell cheaper
Don't fight then Turk. Traders should be aloud to fight on occasion any other time it's for self defense. Hiring mercs to kill another trader is ok, another alternative is hiring rookies to go out to camps advertising to stalkers.

Most of geting hits on you and you're trader is over, because we sorted out icly our trading area's. As long as we both go by the rules there should be no problem.
But if somone was stealing you business then it seem fair game to take it back, As long as it don't happen every day.
Combine you orderd like 5 hits in one night and the admins were realy getting pissed off with you.
Five?, holy shit.
Well no more hits.

No, It's dumb, I was killed three times on one day since I sell cheaper then most.. I heard one guy was selling flashlights for 1,000.

No, I dont talk about base prices in my /bc, I just sell lower then the other guys.
You once said in BC while a trader told were is shop was, "sounds like a bandit trap, come to me instead". Now doing that is asking to be shot.
If your slandering another trader, he's gonna get pissed. . .
PLEASE GENTLEMEN, GET ON TOPIC BEFORE I KILL YOU ALL.
TOPIC: SUGGESTIONS
Ok, a suggestion, traders should be aloud to send mercs after eachother but, make it so you have to app for a hit, with a good IC reason.
There's a PK app's for that.
Oh didn't think of that. . .
If you were all smart enough to begin with you would of ALL sorted out neutral realtions and tried to get in with a faction.
Lolwat? I was in freedum and now i'm in monolith -_0
Sorry Arex.
@ Turk, I know an perfect example. I'm trading with Goose and you walk in.
Selling shit for a lower price then I offered. Then you start to fuck around because you knew I couldn't shoot you or anything else. You fuck up other peoples deals with ridiculus prices and then you're pissed off that you get killed?
You don't really seem to know how it works. If you fuck with people they get you back.
Not to mention that a lot of your prices were below base price. Stop whining because trouble doesn't appear out of nowhere. You cause it yourself.
I've hadn't any problem on my own trader because I don't fuck around.

10 Rubles above base price good sir. Plus, I found the item, It wasn't bought from the trader menu. Now, Please, For the love of god, Don't talk about that topic..
I'm sure this has been suggested before, but what about specialized Traders?
Traders that have authorisation to sell special IC equipment. For example a Trader that sells special weaponry, a Trader that creates electronic equipment or a Trader that sells rare items.
They should be separate from the average Trader, difficult to get hold of or find.
It would be a good idea if people were able to accept it, they will go on about money issues etc...
The idea is pretty good, but, that IC items should be authed by SV's constantly.
And we'd need flags, to be sure they only sell what they are ment to sell.
I think Trader flags should be get rid of something. All the special weapons, aka 13000+ Should only be selled by people with, let's say, Special Weapons Trader. Then for the electric items, Traders wont' be able to sell, radio's, PDA's, Flashkeys and other electronical devie, but the Trader specialized in it could. About the rare item Trader, well I don't know what Rare items he can go ahold of.
If this would be possible, each Trader would get his fair share of business.
So how would this sound?
1Mechanical Trader(radios, pda, lights)
2Weapons Trader(ammo too)
3Armor Trader(any suits)
4Medical Trader(kits and anti-rads)
5Bar Keep(Drinks and food)
1 Some business (Once you get an item, you rarely need to get a new one.)
2 More then average business (Dues to ammo always needed)
3 Not so much business (How often do people buy new suits?)
4 Some business (Unless a fight will/has happen(ed))
5 Barely any business (Unless it became required (Food mod/Hard core Passive RPers))
It would help with giving out different Trader jobs, but would need to make items more needed. Cause the person selling ammo will still make the most money.
No, Just no.
I actually find them to be good ideas. And " No, Just no. " Ain't an answer.
I think there should be General Goods Traders[everything], Technical Trader [Upgraded weapons, with silencers and stuff[
Does the roster really have to be wiped every month? Maybe we should wipe it less often.

No kidding, I am not re applying now.
Not to mention, how is someone supposed to get reccs from a trader when there are no traders anymore :/ I think I found a break in the system that makes it impossible for any traders to be accepted.

The barkeep wouldn't get too much money since not all of us are hardcore RPers (RP pissing).
He should get all low-grade weapons, ammo, plus a few of medium-grade.
Tom, what months ? I've seen no wipe since 3-4 months. This wipe was due to the server wipe, and inactive people, and new flags. And there are 3 Traders on. And if there's none, I recc them.

Ask Ares or any other trader
What's the problem ???
"Amateurs can't give out missions"
Bad. Everyone is an amateur right now. We need them to give missions. There is no point in artificially limiting traders like that for no real apparent reasons. Amateurs are already limited by not being able to sell top tier gear there's no reason they shouldn't be able to make jobs.
I said they can. If they want. It's all on you. Do nothing, and I'll have to force the traders into doing them.
Trader's should start out with tier 1 Weapons and Suits. So they can make some money to buy shipments.
It was not my idea for this post.

Limit starting traders to AKSu, give about 400 paycheck for traders. Starting money should be about 3000 RU.

We can't change paychecks, only Silver can do that but I agree that all traders at Tier 1 would be good.

I'm still wondering why NOT a single guy didn't take suits.
Less suit-selling traders -> more clients -> $.
Because suits are really expensive and if you had to choose over which a gun or a suit to survive in the zone which would it be?

Because selling suits you're lucky to sell one suit in an irl month. If that is all you can sell you will be really bored as a trader.
Suits are overpriced.
Stop using this as a discussion. It's for complaints and suggestions ONLY. Not your personal chatroom.
I dont see any discussion, there just everyone agreed that suit or guns trader is not fair for suits,so thats a one large complaint.
Complaint.
The new trader idea fails. There's no reason to specialize in weapons or suit. I can't see any logical reason for a trader not to get both type of items. And as you can see, most of the traders refused and others went only on weapons. Then you'll start forcing people onto suits, but then they'll bitch due to lack of clients and money to make missions that you will force back-up. My suggestion is to get back to the OLD system.
This system seems to make more sense in an IC Manner and changes up rp a bit its kinda nice. But there's hardly any traders on it always seems..
Most of the trader in the STALKER game, if not all, always sold weapons and suits. This system isn't helping in anyway, it's just making things worse.
(Kind of a complaint)
My trader application is yet to be moderated and I'm under pressure to get it sorted ASAP.
It's been over a month on this particular application now.
Im aware of it and I know its there. Im deciding whether I should accept or Deny it.
More suit traders, yes?
I want to be a suit trader so bad!
Maybe lower the amount of mission's required each week for suit trader's, or add somekind of bonus is my suggestion.
I find it hard to belive that you can sell enough suits to actually make enough money since they are a once in a lifetime sort of purchase, besides any new trader starting out is most likely going to be a weapon trader because there's only a few stalkers who actually wants the rookie suit's.
Anyone who have played for more then a few weeks is going to want to suits on the higher tiers.
And on a sidenote, when you typed "Accepted" into my application, you did so with red text.
Does this mean something along the lines of "Accepted, but you're on thin ice." or is it nothing to worry about?
Nah, I just like to put humor into the things I do. However, on regards to the mandatory missions, Im trying to REMOVE the damned system of suit or guns. To me its not really working, nor does anyone like it.
I'll be working on fixing it for the time being though Smirnoff.

We only have 1 suit trader (If I recall correctly), everyone else sells guns. . .
Why do we make them choose one or the other? ???

It was changed yesterday, now everyone can sell both suits and guns.
(Although you still have to apply for the tiers seperatly so dont expect a tier 3 weapon trader to have tier 3 suits as well.)
In my opinion, the whole major faction trader's selling suits needs to be reworked.
Sure, ICly major factions repainting their suits and selling it to stalkers for profit makes sense, but OOCly it makes being a free trader less interesting, and in the end is going to lead to fewer free traders.
It works like this: A loner walks into the DUTY bar and asks for a sunrise, the duty trader offers to sell one to him, and the loner agrees.
They walk to the storage room where the duty member repaints the suit and removes any DUTY marks, thus turning it into a normal stalker sunrise, and then passes it onto the stalker who pays for it.
OOCly, it works like this:
The stalker trades the duty trader the agreed amount, then calling an admin.
The duty member trades the amount representing the basecost of the suit to the admin, which destroys the cash, and spawns a regular sunrise for the stalker. This could possibly lead to huge holes in economy.
My suggestion is that to put up a special prising rule for major factions, which means they cant sell anything worth more 1000RU for less then 200% of baseprice.
That would make it more profitable to buy off free traders, while still keeping the option of purchasing off a major faction trader.
I would like to see trader applications opened again.
As I think some people should be removed from roster for inactivity.

Agreed.
The tier system was better in my opinion, but the old way of trading was the best. Traders should be able to sell everything. Although we would need Silver to up the prices of buying exotic weaponry in trader menu (if the price is not low enough).
the new system will fail because you wont manage to find active traders for the ranks you made. same items have no difference in statistics OOC, that means condition doesnt exist and thus the base for 'merc/bandit' traders are destroyed and we're back at simple, loner traders aligning themselves with whomever they want. i also do not understand why are you making these limitations to make it harder than it already is.
i dont see this working and you need to start changing things from the most basic and then move on to more specific. first of all, get a better admin team and then worry about items.
just go back to iii tier system where one tier goes for both equipment(weapon and armor) or just make every item available like in cakescript, except there are additional items for faction whitelists.
