Title: Srp_Redemption_Night?

I'm suggesting that we make a night time version of Redemption to add to the Stalker atmosphere. It would certainly be a new scenario, and would add a tremendous amount of potential RP.

Altering the skybox texture, and adding some new lighting effects and sources for the Major faction bases would add a little more to the atmosphere instead of having completely pitch-black RP scenarios.
Lighting effects such as-
Point_spotlight

The Columns of light coming from the ceiling lights are the point_spotlights. They're more for asthetic purposes, they do very little lighting but look nice.

Would it be a possibility? Think of how much RP would be created.

Also, I think we should rotate between redemptionNight and RedemptionV2 every say, 12 or 24 hours?

He stole the idea off me... besides i really don't have the time right now to map, let alone code rad 2, i don't even have enough time to myself... Sleep -> College -> Social Life -> 1 hour of HGN -> Sleep

It's not difficult to do, it would only take an hour or two.

It's just that it's totally unnecessary.

100 megs more to download for a few parameters changed.

Just use color mod settings.

How optimistic, but it's just not the same, besides theres still several fixes and features that need to be added, to finish the map off.

Would be pretty interesting, definitely more RP potential. A nice remake of the map would be cool to to get rid of some of the texture problems such as the one in the arena that has that no-texture texture lol   and also get rid of the lagginess of the warehouse (i get lag when i look at it.. dunno why)

But maybe you could make the current day map just have a changing backround, so it alter from night to day automatically, and the lighting changes too. Like down in a underground place on that map there's that light that spins, if you can do that you can put in a day/night script, only thing is can you change the background of the map like that?

It doesn't really work like that, but ive been playing around with a weather and night mod recently.

Silver, if you don't want to map, maybe (With your permission of course) I could alter redemption to make it a night time version.
I believe I'm good with hammer lighting techniques and styles.

Only the fruit punch anomalies are part of the map, and they emit light anyway.
The other anomalies are part of the script, and in Stalker they don't emit light anyway.

Hey, also, in Oblivion Lost, I heard a story that if you roam at night, a creature will come and kill you, you'll never see it coming, and it leaves no trace. In the game you can hear the screams of this creature(I think) and it's victims, wonder if you could put those sounds in the night version?

This shouldn't take much of any time to make, 10 minutes maybe of, changing the skybox to a nighttime thing then adding a few lights around the map. no biggy.

If it's no biggy I think people should get off their arse and do it.

You can't have an entire community relyiying on 2-3 people.

That being said, I tried hammer a long time ago, tried to make a room, and rage quit.

Also tried 3d modeling but no one would help me with how to make the 2d objects i made and bridge the gaps, and the only way I could fathom was poly by poly, and would take forever.

Can you imagine trying to verticy by veticy  prim an AK receiver when all of the vertexes are all together in one verticle line?

Still trying to LUA weapons :3

Its doable I think, once when I was a TnB server, it was a City map and the sky is usually just BLACK clouds, but I looked up and it was kind of lightish, infact it was an event blah blah: Nighttime quickly passes, the sun shining through the tops of buildings or somthing.

It should be almost pitch black due to 1: No lights or anything aside from flashlights. 2:Add eerie-ness to an already eerie game.
But shouldn't be pitch black as if you were playing S:SoC on Oblivion Lost mod.

I was hoping if I ever get permission to modify the map, I would add some lighting in major faction bases.

yea, i have a couple of things i learned from my friend FFD who maps for valve, to make a really good ambience lighting you have to have chadowcontrolls properly set and Static light and props correctly done.

A weather mod should be put in the game.
It will make it more realistic and more rp will be created!

Dude 1:"Oh look it's gonna rain , lets take shelter and wait for it to pass."
Dude 2:"Yeah lets go."

Rain/Storms/Snow anything you can come up with.

Also a night mod would do good!

Dude 1:"The night will come soon we should go to a bar or something"
Dude 2:"Lets go to 100 rads bar"

Also blood suckers would find that as feeding time.
And there would be more guards during the night.
As in lets says Duty covers it's entrances.
Military patrols.
Freedom closes into it's houses, puts out a few guards , some patrols.

Would be nice and would create lots of RP!

Weather shouldn't change from 15 to 30 mins.
Events would make weather last longer.

Night's should last an hour or more.

In all honesty, it wouldn't take long at all. 15 Minutes maximum I'd presume to alter the map.
Would take about 30 seconds to change the skybox texture and delete the light_environment in sector 2.
The rest of the time would be making all of the snazzy looking lights in the faction bases and such.

Honestly if I knew how , I would do it.
The sad thing about this is , I don't know how to and I have tried many times to make stuff for gmod but failed.

You would get a spank if you 'just did it', you need permission from SK along with anyone if you want to modify what they made.

AHEM. Case and point, besides I'm PRETTY sure the dev team had alot more people listed for mapping then just SK anyways.
