I love stalker and would to try a stalker based RP game, but This site is HORRIBLE for information. I have seen posts stating i need garry's mod, some stating i dont etc etc.
a. Do i need garrysmod, and if so, 9 or 10?
b. Which retail games do i need? Css,hl2, etc.
c. What files do i have to download?

So you've never played Gmod?
You need Garrysmod 10, a source game (Half life 2 mostly)
And the SRP content pack.

Garrys Mod on steam is $9.99. It's not much at all :P
From time to time Steam has it on sale for $5. I got Gmod for $5 about a year ago and it was worth every penny, have something like 380 hours played. Definitely worth $5.
GMOD worths it really. Example me:
I bought my second Orange Box, and gave its Serial to a friend, who gifted me GMOD.
Orange Box was 49.99$ then, and Garry's mod 9.99$.
Atleast he has EP2, TF2, EP1 now. And me Garry's mod. Rarw.
Got orange box for 20 bucks at future shop, garrysmod for 10 and that's with CS:S that I had bought a month in advance.
It's worth it for sure.
Got TF2 and Gmod for 20$ worth it even tho i dont play TF2 much
