Map change time?

TL;DR

I don't think SK is going to use Darkdolina, some kids tried to get it on the server once before and he said no.

It's pretty obvious that all the current people wanting the map on the server are not just "some kids" but are actually speaking for the majority of the community this time around. The only thing that would change my opinion on this is to see some supporters of a different map.

It was said because just about every single one of you ARE kids. There's a very limited amount of 19+ oldfags in the community.

That's probably because most of the people who actually play Gmod are under 19. But I don't see how that would change someone's ability to RP and have an opinion on a certain subject, if that's what anyone here is implying.

Meh, I disagree. Anyone under the age of 11 is a complete retard when it comes to RP, just go look at most of the new people who come into here.

Also, the reason why I heard Silver didnt use it was because of a secret room that was worth like 100MB.

I had noticed that actually. That's the only real problem I found with the map, but I think it could be easily removed if Silver really wanted to use the map on the server.


And I do have to agree with your first statement as well, but I still think that as long as someone does not act like their fucking Brazilian on the server then no one should care what his/her age is.

The vast majority of people under 16 or so do not have the attention span/intelligence to RP well.  That is not to say everyone under 16 can't (I started on TSRP when I was 14 or so and blew all sorts of peoples' minds with RP ability, there are plenty of young kids at HGN who know a thing or two about making good characters, etc) but the vast majority can't.

Also I think the bigger issue is Silver getting server playable now rather than what map it's running. Doubt this gets addressed until that does.

Silver can fairly easily remove the room if he wants. Also, that'd give him a good opportunity to alter the map a bit to better suit our needs.

Last exile is making a new map currently guys if you remember looking at the STALKER reloaded topic. I think we should in my opnion have darkolina on server one and when exile finishes this awsome map he is doing he could put it on server 1 and move darkolina to server 2. That way server two might get more people on it if they want to play that map.

SRP_darkdolina is avoided because it has tons of un-needed junk from tnb and that other fail community implanted into it. It's not packed properly so you have tons of files in and outside the map which really are not needed.

Chernobyl is a horrendous map and always will be. Look at this realistically, it'll only be a matter of time before people call for a mapchange yet again. Remain on Redemption, and set server 2 to S42. It has stability issues but it's still a decent map.

Redemption is also a horrendous map if you ever want the factions to do something other than money farm.

The easiest way to fix this would be to get about twice as many people on SRP constantly so the server would be at 25+ at all times and use Sector 42 since that is probably the best map other than being fucking huge.

Nearly everyone SRP related map has one major flaw. Whether it's stability, chokepoints, or size, nothing's perfect. Maybe this supposed new map might change that if it's ever finished, but for now you just have to make due.

Since server 2 is a much smaller player base, why are we setting server 2's map to the largest fucking one available? Put redemption on server 2.

It's suitable for events, as it always has been. I don't know why it keeps getting changed, it was perfectly fine.
As for server one? I don't even know at this point. Yes Redemption has its flaws, but I'm reluctant to see it change because every other option is so much goddamn worse. Been a while since I saw redux, but it doesn't exactly have many fans.
