I've pretty much had it with HGN. People were asking me why im leaving and since im not in the mood to explain to every single person i'll post my reasons here.
1) The playerbase is just immature and disrespectful.
2) I don't even enjoy coming on anymore because I end up arguing everyday.
3) Most people can't even RP correctly. I don't need someone telling me how to roleplay fear when I can do it just fine. Especially when there being 2 faced about it.
4) Everyone is so up tight about gear now. after every fight everyone is pissed because of losing there AK or there spas. I was in a STK with freedom, me and radek were fighting like 3 - 5 of them. We both died and lost our SVD's and most shit on our bodies and ofcourse I was mad about it because those aren't cheap nor easy to get. Im not normally like that and its infuriating.
5) Factions aren't like they used to be. Don't intend on being rude to any of the following factions but im just speaking what I believe. Military is no longer aggressive, they are pretty much friendly with every passing stalker. Doomburger has cease fires and is very paranoid of getting PK'd and you can't even deny it.
Freedom is nothing but highschool roleplay and are nothing like they are supposed to be. In the game they are tight asses and keep a close watch on everyone and are decent fighters and fight in what they believe in. They don't sit around all day and make penis jokes.
Duty are just plain inactive. In my personal opinion, if nitro can't make the faction stay completely active and neither can't alex, i doubt dug can make a difference.
Monolith were good when bielecki lead them with predu, but now they just STK everyone and ROB STALKERS. What the fuck? They randomly STK'd duty at there entrence, and STK'd stalkers + duty at the bus stop while we were in the middle of RP.
6) Realism. The server 100% lacks it. If I shoot a stalker burst round into the chest he should die. If you dive into the water, you'll get irradiated. If your shot period, you'll recoil and bounce back, not stand tall and mighty. Rookie stalkers can't beat down bloodsuckers with kabars, and they aren't all hand to hand masters that can beat every military soldier.
7) Female characters. I have one, and I know how to RP it. But, people insist on having whores and super ninjas for female characters. I don't mean to be sexist and this doesn't apply to every girl but they aren't exactly best of fighting material. Im talking about all the female mercs / stalkers who go into STK and RP'd fights and have to win. You know who im talking about folks.

One thing that pissed me off the most is the way stalkers acted. I would do things like /me snuggles up behind tthe wall, Holding his gun tightly. and some stalker would be like *RUN AROUND CORNER SHOOT, Take shit, Run away*.
The lack of roleplay several players showed to new players.
The fear roleplay, That if you raise ur gun at a STALKEr, he raises his, Theres no "Oh shit dun shoot me"

Its your choice if you want to leave, by leaving your also saying that you cant deal with the situation we're in right now. Sure its a loot-gear fest most of the time, but the rest of the time its actual roleplay. The "You dont need weapons" to roleplay thing is pretty much pointless in SRP since if your unarmed and running around alone, your bound to run into either a mutant, monolithian or the military. Since you are leaving, you should give your stuff out to the admins so we'll at least have a better economy ingame. I never really liked you much rebel but good bye.
If it isn't fun for him why the fuck are you guys all wanting him to stay? When SRP becomes less fun than, say, doing work it isn't worth playing on. The factions all suck and have sucked for quite some time because all the leaders are deathly afraid of losing a fight and losing gear even though they have paycheck stockpiles > the GDP of most of Western Africa.
And also you guys all say "Mutants don't give us reason to fear them" Well that's great but when, as a sucker, I take out my claws and murder you you whine and complain about being DM'd and suckers always lose a /me fight because it removes their biggest advantage: stealth and speed. If you want suckers to be scary again, let them actually be scary instead of demanding they uncloak and /me for 10 minutes while you call your friend over SF to bail you out.

Yep, once I shot a Military guy from 1 meter from a mossberg, and had to RP that the kevlar stopped the pellets which lost minimal to none kinetic power and speed ?
Gotta make RP guide how to RP a wound or a shot.
Shotgun pellets won't penetrate body armor. Shotgun slugs probably wouldn't either. The pellets with body armor would be bad but not deadly (probably, maybe if you were using like 8 gauge or something) but a slug would be like getting sledgehammered in the chest.

And by asking him to go back won't help, if you want him to get back, start actually Fear RPing. Not you Paintcheck though, you are cool. And some members. But not most of 'em.
People expect so much in such a short time, SRP has gone through a major downturn and is coming out of it slowly. It's not perfect and the fact of the matter is that it will not get better on it's own, i can only do so much myself to keep her going but leaving is never the answer it will only make things get worse since what makes up a server is it's population. Alot of people really cannot roleplay for shit, it's up to our veterans to teach them and our admins to remove them if they don't want to fit in.
Ive thought about alot of things lately, i have even considered giving up this hobby of mine but im going to hold onto it, why? Well 3 years worth of fun, dedication and history lay right here and as history proves, we have these "gutter" holes where things get pretty bad but we always rebound back up.
Sure there are alot of issues with the way she's running right now, redemption is a pretty "shallow" map to hold all of our current factions and that flaw can really ruin alot of the gameplay. The script is still not up to scratch yet however it's the factions and playerbase that is the problem.
By that i mean, the faction leaders are not trying hard enough and are being too "lazy" and instead of following their faction stereo types they do their own thing which pretty much kills the faction right on the doorstep.
Military are too passive, don't do much however that's partly the maps fault atm. Freedom on the otherhand only ever passive, they don't follow the lore too well either- the lack of their brotherhood union is what destroys it all. DUTY are just plain inactive, which means freedom suffers anyway to the point they are at now. Duty is now lead by Dug and hopefully that may improve a few things with that faction.
