Title: Duty and Military
Post by: Dude on 19-12-2011
Seriously why does nobody like Duty? Everybody likes Freedom and are always dedicated to it, but I always see deserters from Duty and see them going inactive, as well as giving negative feedback about it.

And what about the Military? They use to be active and true to canon a while back, I remember many times where I was being chased by their large patrols. Wasn't someone bringing them back?

While I don't like posting in these threads, I see the need to do so as this matter's been brought up in the past ten or so.
What is this based on? The server has been generally empty for the past couple of weeks and all the folks claiming Duty and Military to have kicked the bucket (again) hadn't even touched the server in over a month before this 'drought' started.

Freedom is still alive only thanks to a few dedicated members, as it's been for several months.
Duty's activity surpassed even Freedom's before the server took a nap, and I saw the same old 'Duty loyalists' phenomenon everywhere. The Ukrainian Military was brought back, but refer to my point about the server being empty and all.

Now if you want to discuss the server's emptiness, feel free to take a look at http://www.forums.hypergamer.net/the-cordon/stalker-server-dead/ (http://www.forums.hypergamer.net/the-cordon/stalker-server-dead/)
Just give it some time, dude.

I wasn't saying the server was empty, and its based on the fact that I haven't seen Military in months, as well as the fact that there's only two military members according to the roster, counting its new leader.

Duty's activity has never been as consistent as Freedom's from my experiences as well as about 10 people I've asked about the faction, along with Duty's decent sized list of deserters on their roster.

I know it feels irritating when you respond to the same points repeatedly as an admin, ask Otto; I ended up leading a whiney community before I realized they were hopeless, but the reason you end up addressing the same issues is because they aren't getting solved, I've seen these issues continue for at least 5 months or so, Duty's activity is improving; that is true, but the desertion appears to be the result of some faction unpleasantries, as Freedom does fine. I say 5 months(might be considerably longer, its a rough estimate) because I saw these same issues when Mrtasker was leading Freedom (best damn leader in my opinion).

I saw Military undergoing a serious reform, but waiting for applicants to replenish its numbers isn't gonna do much, it needs to go back to hiring mercs like it has before or something of the like.

Just my opinion though, I don't mind waiting for the issues to be resolved over time.

because you can't desert from 'freedom' unlike in Duty, where you're held by a contract.
it's like saying you'll become a voluntary slave now.
betraying is a different situation, by the way.

People are loyal to Freedom, people hate and run from Duty, that was my point, and I know what betrayal is, thanks.

Because Duty has either the most non-passive RPing people or it's just Gontzah.

I once was in a Duty base.   They told me to get out, because I was unauthorized.  Now you know why I run from Duty.

so the only reason why you hate duty is because they suggested you to leave their own base.
alright sounds reasonable

They're just people who go. OMG Y DUTY KILL ZOEN!!!!1! Hate them forevurzz! Also they think Freedom are like angels from heaven and Duty, wearing black & red are some sort of inhumane killer robots from hell. Also people "accidentally" walking in the barracks is frustrating.

Put down notes that tell them it's forbidden to go into those places.

We got notes like 90% of the time. Nobody just ever bothers reading them.

Add this notice, "(OOC: By crossing this point without authorization in-character, you will be STK'd with no gear return)" and then color it red. Problem Solved.
