This topic is simple, yet effective.
List here, 5 things you wanted edited/changed/removed/added to srp.
Example:
1. I think... that penguins should be added to srp
2. Bloodsuckers should have top hats
3. Add monsta trucks
4. Add monsta trucks 2
5. Add monsta trucks 3
That was a dumb example, however it gets over the point that things should be layed out with numbers, keep this on topic and serious please, i won't hesitate to give you a forum ban.
The original thread done by me was here: http://www.forums.hypergamer.net/the-cordon/5-things-you-wanted-editedchangedremovedadded-to-srp/ (http://www.forums.hypergamer.net/the-cordon/5-things-you-wanted-editedchangedremovedadded-to-srp/)
1. Cheaper "Stalker" suits. Like a sunrise without a gasmask and low protection.
2. Perhaps self spawning mutants with corrected hitboxes.
3. Suits that give you protection from anomalies.
4. Agressive stalker NPCs with weapons?
5. I dunno, emissions? No idea.
1. Cheap STALKER sunrise suit without gasmask with hood up and olive drab balaclava covering mouth. for 10k just like standard merc suit with same stats, stops to many lolmercs
2. NPC Traders to sell low tier weapons and all types of ammo for 2% more expensive than player traders.
3. Better hit boxes on mutants
4.If you have a detector on you and your near an anomalie depending on the scanner there is a chance of an artifact appearing (It would have to be thrown out a few meters, so you don't get killed by the anomalie)
5. STALKERS should be like a faction with a leader of some sorts at the spawn village, so we can organise together and fight off bandits if they show up.
1. Armour and weapons condition degeneration.
2. Surplus ammo veriants for 5.56, 7.62, 5.45 and so on which lower the condition of the rifle more than normal ammo.
3. Cleaning kits for the weapons and so forth.
4. Attachments for rifles (if possible)
5. Equipable backpacks and pouches where you buy a backpack and use it and it appears on your character.
1. Make use for the tools (More craftable items?)
2. Change the anomalies to stop destroyding items, it is fun to see people grabbing them from anomalies and half of them dying.
3. Fix hitboxes for NPCs? Like boar, dog...
4. Add rookie model with gasmask, sunrise without gasmask.
5. Add some use for artifacts, like Goldfish/nightstar gives you more space in inventory.
1. Fix NPC hitboxes.
2. More variants of suits, so there wont be "herds" of people wearing same suit anymore.
3. Fix resistance to radiation / acid / fire etc. on suits.
4. Fix most of artifacts.
5. Degeneration of weapons and suits would be really great. People would actually look for mechanics to fix their shit.
1) To add immersion, some of the Anomalies should be edited as such to be more like their Stalker Counterparts, particularly on terms of appearance and how they work, for example; the Springboard and Electro activate, but have a delay before they activate again. The damage should be scaled into three tiers as well. For example: Springboard Anomaly, Tier 1 (Low damage) Tier 2 (Medium Damage) Tier 3 (High Damage) Tier 4 (Instant Kill) for use of the Administrators, but should be visually identifiable by having more notable effects (AKA Bigger Distortions .etc). You should also make it so that the Anomalies deal the damage that corresponds to their type, so it can tie in with the Artifacts protecting you from Thermal damage, Electrical damage or Chemical damage.
2) Mutants need their hitboxes fixing, and their health and damage outputs should be modified to be similar to their stalker counterparts on MASTER difficulty (I mean, a single dog can take out a player in a few bites.. it takes a swarm to kill in Stalker) Essentially, it might also be a good idea to also tier some of the creatures (Such as the Bloodsucker) into stronger variants, like the Bloodsucker Variant and the Swamp Bloodsucker.
3) You should have the artifact system fixed up, so that players can use them to their whim. Of course, make the effects of the artifacts similar to the ones in the game itself (Not sure WHICH one in particular you may want to follow, but I'd reckon ShoC would be best). Of course, have both of the effects (Pros and Cons) work, so that using an Artifact may irradiate you, but will provide the protection bonus or otherwise. (Or vice-versa, removing radiation and instead taking another factor.)
I also think that tying in the use of detectors with this would be a good idea, so you have to buy an artifact detector to be able to see the artifacts.
4) You should add weapon and suit conditions if at all possible, so that you can tie in all sorts of various things into the server, such as mechanics and technicians. The suit's protection stats would degrade as it becomes broken, and a gun will begin to misfire more often and essentially be crap. This would help stimulate the economy as well, I bet. Alongside previous suggestions, I also endorse the addition of surplus rounds IF this is implemented.
5) The economy system needs to be fixed to be a lot more similar to the one in Stalker, I think. Right now, the trading system is borked, in my opinion.
1) PAC
2) Artifacts fixed
3) Anomalies fixed
4) Suit Anomaly protection should actually protect you
5) Recurring NPC's to make the zone less of a cake-walk so you can't sprint around from one end of the map to the other. No loot.

1) PAC
Oh god no
You could put backpacks on yourself and whatnot.
And alot more than that.
Can you imagine it, on this server - where its about gear mostly?
1337-uber-awesome items on everyone.
It'd be slaved to tooltrust, and of course, the administration team can look after the idiots and remove TT from them if they blah blah ect ect.
1.) Fix Mutants and especially the hit boxes.
2.) Fix the bugs that exist already......
3.) Add more variation to the suits. (EX: What happened to stuff like the french Merc suit...And maybe make the urban merc suit a urban merc suit or atleast different then the rest.)
4.) Make the PDA a useful item...(Like it enables you to /advert or /pm, just like a radio enables you to /radio)
5.) Make the artifacts usable, and fix the anomalies to maybe spawn artifacts.
And your HUD thread already looks like your working on that so I left it out.
What I was thinking when it came to wearable backpacks and pouches I was thinking of something like when you equip a rifle oR pistol you can see it on your character and other players can see it too, something like this should not be too hard to implenent but then again I'm not a coder of any sorts so yea.

The backpack could give you lots more space for inventory on you so you can carry more.
what is PAC?
Quote from: Midgetonic on 06-04-2012
what is PAC?
A tool letting you to put down various props on your character. IE. slung guns. When we had PAC, everyone kept walking in "ghillie suits".
Oh god...
1) I really think we need anomalies that are like the ones in the STALKER games.
2)Good hit boxes for the NPCs
3)Suits help you with anomalies and all that jazz.
4)Suits without gas masks and some with gas masks. Examples:sunrise, merc suit, rookie suit, faction suits.
5)It would be amazing to have SUSAT scopes and silencers.
1. Guitar Swep wich people can use to play music.
2. Give old chr's experienced STALKER flags.
3. More suits, so i can be hipster of the zone.
4. More weapons, so i can be hipster of the zone.
5. Fix the damn anomalies, i hate the vortex/one wich sucks you into air, the fucker is 100% invisible when using older dx versions.
More variants to suits/weapons.
1) New Map
2) PDA, that also has an image section with monster trucks and penguins and suckers with top hats
3) More Weapons and Suits
4) add more russian music to the radios
5) Some guns spaz out in a user's point of view when wearing certain gear. Might need to check that out.
6) I cheat but, change canon and instate new leaders for factions so players can have variations of role play styles.
I really should use a quote... I'm lazy however.
Once upon a time PAC (or something like it) was used in SRP; It was later removed because it caused extreme amount of lagg for everybody, plus people were abusing it.
oh and to be an asshole,
Qoute Paintcheck
"
1) Make
2) It
3) Fun
4) Again
5) Please
"
But I was thinking, why not take paychecks away from everyone except for factions and give Traders super high paychecks. This way they can give out more missions and then people will :D face again because they are actually doing things.
1.) For the love of FUCK please make NPCs with a whole lot less HP. It took me TWENTYONE FUCKING BUCKSHOTS to take down a boar. That shit is unrealistic.
2.) Constant NPCs.
3.) More scavengable items.
4.) PAC with realistic attachments and constant surveillance of people who abuse it.
5.) Active traders.
6.) NPCs with automatically designed missions or NPCs that can assign missions and admins help set it up.
Like, A = Destination/Area/Target, B = Objective, C = Payment, ect. and Admins can make an NPC Mission Giver entity say a certain thing, while all along they're setting the mission up and watching the players closely, once the player achieves the mission, he/she returns to the mission-giver and the Admin will give that roleplayer a certain amount of rubles for the mission. It'd give Admins something to do when they don't need to roleplay. Or alternatively we can make it happen automatically, like once the trader is spoken to, 6 Bloodsuckers will spawn at a pre-selected area the NPC will tell the player about, once all those bloodsuckers are dead, the player will automatically receive money.
As for Traders, it is possible to make NPC vendors so they can sell in the place of the traders. These NPCs will have certain items, a certain amount of items, a cost for them, and a certain amount of rubles on them. We could also make them buy items, too. Like artifacts or ammo and when they buy these things, they add 75% to the price they were sold for and add them to the "Buy" menu. I've seen this done somewhere before, but I can't recall where, exactly.
The above is what I'd REALLY like to see...
Have fun, Exile.
For the love of god PAC is not needed in any way. And the NPC missions, meh. I could see that going horribly wrong with people taking the mission and hopping on a prop to avoid getting killed. Just grinding for the money. There'd have to be a time limit but even then people could be just sitting at the NPC waiting for the mission to become available again, killing RP. NPC vendors which sell ammo would be nice. Or even some low tier guns like makarovs, but NOTHING else.

Thats when they get there tt removed
What is the point of having PAC? Please explain. I can't think how it would help an RP server.
It would be coOl to customize ur char, but if it were added it should be for people with tt so if one breaks the rules it could be more easily punishable.
For the love of God SRP doesnt need PAC, NPC spawns, NPC traders with quest or randomly generated stashes.
- With PAC people would start to asspull ghille suits or cars.
- NPC spawns would wreck RP while people are traveling, not talking about wasting all ammo. If you want to shoot NPCs go play Stalker.
- Active traders would solve need of NPC traders.
- With random stashes people would randomly jump around whole map like morons and economy would be fucked in month.

People who get tt in the first place need admin auths. If we had pac tt users wouldnt need those long char descriptions describing you backpack or you glasses etc you just add the item to yourself
No, it doesn't work like that. PAC is useless. Just use /charphysdesc. And the NPC mutants would prevent people from just running about alone like a derp hopping around. If you don't want to waste ammo then don't move around in the wilderness. Life is supposed to be dangerous in the Zone.

Yes it is, but its counter-productive when youre talking on the move and silent bloodsucker rapes you in two hits from behind.

Then you should have kept a eye out ffs the zone is dangerous not a cake walk. Its not like walking down your street danger is everywhere in the zone the npcs would get that atmosphere and feeling across
NPC idea is dumb. We have donator bloodsuckers for that. Oh wait, you can't even properly play bloodsucker because you'll get metagamed to death!
PAC in a Serious RP Server? HAHAHA
Wait, you're serious aren't you?
PAC always ends badly in a Serious RP Server, From Notable experience
1. Enemy NPC's that roam the dangerous parts of the Zone (More Frequent). Fuck yourself if you think it ruins RP, It's a good thing for when there's nothing happening on the server, and a story to tell to others when Passive Roleplaying.
2. ONE Npc Trader - It's not extremely needed, but it's a good thing to have (Inactive Traders are a pain in the ass). They could sell Locations of Staches every thirty minutes or an hour or so.
3. More Safe Zones - When walking around the Zone, you'll want to sit done, passive roleplay with others, and have some sense of Protection.
4. Better Coordinated Factions - Without some kind of Task Sheet on the Fourms or a Leader, your Faction Members will be aimlessly wondering their base. Give them something to do! Post a basic task sheet, post a set of duties for each day a faction member comes on for them to do (Factions aren't always fun and games.)
5. More Bandit/Raider activity - Give the loners something to fear when they wonder! Give them something to worry about and fear. The Zone isn't always going to be a smooth walk in the park.
One thing to add, Fix the Hitboxes for the NPC's, For the love of god....Please....
Five simple additions/changes ideas for Stalker Roleplay...

The NPC shooting part is for the sake of the people who come here in need for Action. I hate to say this, but we cannot get new players on RP alone. We need to exert our need to kill via NPCs.
Trust me, I know what I'm doing.

Midgetonic and I are currently helping coordinate bandits and encouraging their activity. We raided a mansion yesterday (With four bandits and three people, Lion escaped, so it was almost four.) and secured many items, which we sold back to unofficial traders, thus, giving them items to sell without the need of ass-spawning them everywhere.
I agree with everything Pawx said.

Good luck with that. The amount of metagaming and powergaming that occurs whenever someone tries to bandit in server makes that die really fast.
Also we had PAC a while back and it was awful, everyone did exactly what people are saying (turning themselves into bushes, adding 78 pounds of "tacticool" gear to themselves, adding a bunch of weapons that aren't from SRP to their player models and saying "See I have a pulse rifle on my model therefore I can have it in game!" and all that). It's a terrible idea.

I don't think there's going to be much left of you if the robbery continues, however. The only reason we somewhat succeeded on our raid(the mansion one) is because we had every advantage you can get in that kind of situation(We outnumbered them and the bloodsucker was on our side, most of us had shotguns unlike the loners with pistols or rifles).

1. We intend to outnumber them anyways.
2. We're usually going to get the first drop on them.
3. Even if they had SPAS-12s, it's useless if we've got four shotguns to their back.
4. Bandits are going to go after the extremely wealthy. Even if they shot us on sight, we're going to get them EVENTUALLY. Personally, I didn't approve of the mugging of the poor.
