The Kiev Zone Research Institute's Research and Development division is the actual Ecologists of the Zone. They are there to study, and are less trained in combat, focusing more on science. They are the majority of the staff, making up what most outsiders consider to be the KZRI. They are the most important factor of the KZRI, and they make up the Research and Development piece of the KZRI.
