Hey guys. I've posted this thread before on the old forums.... but those things that you guys told me to do didn't help >.>.
Problem: All the PC games I play constantly freeze. Like when I'm playing CSS, after about 5 minutes, the game freezes, and after about 10 seconds, it catches up. It's really hard to play when you keep freezing and then when the game catches up, you're dead! So annoying! :death:
Okay let me explain more cleary. Lets say I was shooting someone, then the screen just freezes. I can't move or anything. If I freeze in the middle of shooting, the shooting sound repeats,---- BOOM BOOM BOOM---, after about 10 seconds, everything returns back to normal, but I'm always dead, 90% of the time. Unless it's Garry's Mod.
Please help!
Your computer (some parts) might be over heating, your computer specs would help if you told us them.
Update your direct x drivers, your graphics drivers, sound drivers etc.
Manufacturer: Compaq Presario 061
Processor: AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 3200+, MMX, 3DNow, ~1.8GHz
Memory: 1982MB RAM
Hard Drive: 92 GB
Video Card: ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series
Monitor: Plug And Play Monitor
Sound Card: Realtek AC97 Audio
Keyboard: USB Root Hub
Mouse: USB Root Hub
Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.080814-1236)
can i upgrade any of these?
What the fuck is a ATI RADEON XPRESS 200?
Isn't that some onboard graphics card shit?
Anyway, how long has this been happening for? And have you been able to play these games fine before?
uh... ever since i got em, they were doing that. i didn't mind at first, but it got annoying after a while.
yeah my graphic card is on my motherboard. ihave a PCI express slot though...
It might be because your components are absolute shit.
You're gonna need to upgrade the graphics card, dude.
Yeah Upgrade or get new drivers also I would recommend to check your file integrity on steam you can do this by
Steam/My games right click properties
Check file integrity etc
Then defrag your computer
Update your drivers...
Check for updates for your operating system.
install updates/drivers.
If that still does not work buy a cheap graphics card. I have a Nvidia 9800gt 1gb for 140 Dollars and that runs everything I want it to run... on high so yeah Get what you need. If you get a graphics card you will notice a increase in system performance because that integrated wont be taking your ram now. If you know nothing about computers Simple answer.
Google is your friend.
You might want to check if your computer is clogged with dust if you have never cleaned it. Get a can of air and blow the dust out.
What's your motherboard, thats the main question, all the components you have, and can have, must be supported by your MO.
Hmm, something odd, but awsome happened yesterday... I was playing CS:S, but it didn't freeze once! Idk wtf happened... I think its the temperature of my system because, I didn't have my heater on and it was freaking cold!
Oh man, Rohok, that's a good idea, but i've already thought of it a LOOONG time ago. Problem is, the graphic cards i buy, don't fit into my desktop. The graphic card I already have is on the mother board.
Check your game settings,Make sure your card is set to whatever makes it run the easist on you system .Sadly this will mean a lack of good graphics :/ .
You could always buy a new case with giant fans on it, I bought a really good one for cheap.
