I don't know whats worse putting my things in a storage container that can be easily robbed, or carry it all and be easily robbed.
Lockpicking could work, not all locks are "OMG INVINCIBLES!!!11!" I've heard alot of people complain I can't come in because the doors locked, I suggest two ways to open a door, lockpick or shoot the lock off, one way is quieter

Maybe ventilation ducts that you could crawl through and hide in. Look and listen to secret meetings in some buildings and so. Would be cool.
