Fellow Roleplayers,
For a roleplaying community, I'm genuinely amazed at how many basic spelling grammar mistakes are made, including but not limited to, the improper usage of commas, using the wrong letters to create sounds, and the inability to create solid and proper sentences.
The basic construction of a sentence is subject then verb, common knowledge, you already know this. Some people prefer to avoid this and simply speak in broken up sentences. The next time you type something, either in RP or posting here, please consider it's content and it's structure, if you failed to include a verb or a subject, try again.
Commas are very important, because they help emphasize pauses and potential changes of subject, as well as potential changes in tenses. That doesn't mean go ballistic and spam commas through your sentences, but if you sit there and type one long sentence that never seems to have a break or a pause even when you change subjects and decided to talk about the server but forget the server is a new subject. Ow, that hurt to even type. The cousin to commas, apostrophes, could also be used a lot more. Contractions, while not considered proper English, are acceptable among standard and common English speakers, but you should remember the apostrophe.
Presents and Presence are two completely different words. I understand not all of you are born in the grand ol' (lol) USA, but come on. If you're going to speak the language, and you aren't using a browser with a built in spell check, at least have the decency to look up the word if you aren't sure how to spell it. If you can't get the red squiggly lines to go away, try a synonymous word or even try googling the word. You'd be surprised how smart the google search algorithm is.
Final words, in quoting a friend of mine "Its two more letters to make you look infinitely less stupid". U does not equal You, R does not equal Are. Your is not You're. To is not Too. Please, please, please, add in the extra letter or letters. Believe me, if you're a new roleplayer, nothing is more impressive than slapping out some hardcore grammar and spelling accuracy.
Now my Grammar Nazi ranting is over, take it or leave it.
Tl;dr: Learn English goddamn it
Edit: I'm convinced a lot of you didn't read the post in its entirety and understand it all, then proceed to attempt to flame me when you're misinformed. You just earned a "Special Ed" Sticker.
No intention to offend, merely assist.

I've got to agree with some points though, seeing a new face whippin' out some hardcore grammar and spelling is pretty impressive.
I can understand this for RP, but for the forums, no.
I don't know who you are, but you can't tell people that they have to spell correctly.
English is not everyone's first language.
If someone wants to spell like an idiot, let them.
Well my English isnt the best cause Iam German but I try to do my best and the only thing is that you atleast understand the people youre talking to, I don't really care at the grammar from other people.
im dyslexic AND MY RIG DOSENT HAVE A SPELL CHECKER I BUILT IT FOR GAMING not apeasing grammer nazis
I have to agree, i am from the UK but my english isn't the greatest because i have to switch between two complete different languages since i also speak Welsh. The sentences are structured similar but not exactly the same. I also, am not as fluent in english or welsh althought i know both clearly. I've decided to spend my education on other things than correcting every little grammical error or learning how to structure a paragraph. I understand that it is frustrating to have the amount of errors in the roleplay that there is, BUT the reason there is, is because the roleplay is open to everyone, and anyone is allowed to play. This means some people might not be fluent in english at all, or as Nitro said, have problems like dyslexcia (i understand i might have spelt it wrong, because i'm not a grammer nazi). So please, before you decide to post somthing like this, take into consideration peoples situations and such.
I'm guessing he thinks this is like every other server in the sense that, everyone is from the US or beanerville.
Sadly, that's not the case, seeing as how i see more people from European countries then I do American in alot of threads.
Americans dont get to be grammer nazis they are terified of the letter U

Lol'd, its true.
I can spell pretty well, and as long as I can understand the person I'm talking to I don't mind.
Dude, not everyone here is 20-years old English teacher.

Don't come to the interweb and complain about grammar. If you truly cared about grammar so much, Go make love to a English book.

That's what i think.
Isn't Neohazard a banned TF2 admin? No?
Well, anyway.
Why people shit on this thread so hard?
He just suggested to use normal grammar.
EDIT:
opps, let me fix that.

Wait what ? They aren't ?!
Honestly, the general mood at HGN with spelling and grammar is:
If you can understand the person, you're good to go. Don't heckle them over the spelling or grammar, they might not be from an English speaking country.
Basicaly if they aint meta speaking cut them some slack, Pepole will improve over time.
As long as people are trying to spell it really dosent matter.
As long as people arent like "y r u looking at me blad" i dont care at all.

Fail.
Hi NeoHazard, how's it rolling? How long are you going to be here for?
Hi PistolKid,
bout a week or two. Maybe more. Depends on how long people like Alex want to keep starting flame wars.
And damn, thought I caught all my spelling mistakes.
At all the flamers / trollers: You're reminding me why I left HGN...
Also, I said I understand that not everyone is from the USA, and some people are from the UK..I happen to know SK is from the UK..I'm not expecting perfection but there are obvious oversights that can and should be fixed.
I can also read at a higher level than those "Lol brt" texters. In fact, I text in full words. Bite me.
Call me a Grammar Nazi if that pleases you, I couldn't honestly care less what you label me.
Hi Locke, yes I'm the banned TF2 admin.
Edit:
Special edit, just for you Alex!
What makes you think I'm trolling?
It was a perfectly legitimate suggestion. Hell, if you want, I'll even provide you with a link to a site where you can learn proper English too, if you'd like.
I'd also like to bring it to a few individual's attention: I was in HGN longer than you probably have been, I just quit a while back.
Well, if you like to bring up the e-drama....
QuoteAt all the flamers / trollers: You're reminding me why I left HGN...
Honestly, did you come back to remind others of how you failed to troll and got banned?
In fact, none has trolled you in this topic.

How about you ignore people you don't like?
