Well , since I'm serious about this ,here it goes.

How about WW II Roleplay? No , I'm not on to PEW PEW PEW , I'm on citizens in WWII ,but ofcourse you could join an army. ( For example russians and axis ) , you can be an underground-solider or something. I would say it would be based on Radiation Script , since that's better than dark rp ,and I would keep tanks out of the fights.
You would start as a normal citizen ,trying to keep alive. You could become like a worker , and build up the houses again (with props ofc, would require trusty players) , or some Salesman , even a dealer for weapons...
A character in axis or allies would require a character who has never been a citizen. ( I don't think the armys recruited local guys ).
I would say the props from Day of Defeat would do at first , just to start first. As Citizens the Hl2 peeps would be boring , I would say the STALKER people would be more fun ,or someone else.

Some rules: 1. Applications for everything exept normal guys needed. ( We don't want dark rp ,do we?)
2. No RDM , if you're axi/ally don't go like : OH , ENEMY *PEW* , rp it , or ask for an auth from a superior officer ICly to attack them.
3. No hacks ofc.
4. Tooltrust + Phsychgun Application would be useful.
5. No looting. ( Seriously ,it's assholish , people worked for stuff like months on the server and you go like: /me shoots you and takes your stuff ) that would be stupid ,and deserves a kick , then ban. REFUNDS ALLOWED ,STEALER CHARACTER WILL BE DELETED.
6. No Lolshooting , everything requires rp.
7. I would say a radio-hack-tool would be cool ,since it existed in WWII too.

A lot of flaws here. Allies and Axis in the same city, it would be actually Warsaw then. Russians vs Nazis. I don't think that people would like to sit in the death camps too. Nobody likes to die.

EDIT: The Russians and Axis were stationed at Poland, and Vistula river is going through Warsaw, so the Axis are on the other side.

Well, How the hell you think German had a big army ? They recruited all the people. And anyway a WW2, wouldn't that sound.. Racist ? Axis will have to rp stermination camps, and somebody has to be the jew.
And with the maps ? Allies and Axis can't stay in the same city.

EDIT: I say two maps then. Each map one army.
There are no jews required , I don't really want any stupid racist stuff.

1944, because if there will be a small amount of Jews, then it must be after the Holocaust, or when they move the Jews to ghetto's. Only a few survived ghetto extermination so no "lol I survived holocaust in ghetto Im kewl" if it is after WWII.

I agree with above. And no RDM between both factions ,if they meet each other rp it , else  , get an auth from an admin to attack the other faction. DO NOT RDM CITIZENS , Axis even  MUST get auth by atleast two superiors to kill a citizen ,and I don't think russkies killed citizens so ... still auth.

NEW RULE: Sexual interaction allowed ,but please , finish it in SF. I don't think admins want porn.  (( Yeah ,just came out of my mind ,remembering that beeing disallowed on desertia ,so... ))

REDIT: Both factions on one map , NO MULITFACTIONING.

If you take out looting the economy would be pretty fucked up. Even if you wanted to keep it, you might as well just remove that rule and make it so you don't drop stuff when you die. Also, there's many many roleplay ideas out there, you'd have better luck suggesting your idea to a community with coders, mappers, and all that. You could even suggest it to HGN, right?

Would just be dark RP, It's a good idea though. What made you so interested in this?

During WWII the concentration camps were just rumors to the German citizens and Americans.  The soldiers were stunned when they first came across a concentration camp.  Jewish people could be abducted but it's unnecessary to RP in a hidden concentration camp.

Clearly you've never heard of Reich Role-play... It was a community that was doing WWII role-play set in occupied Paris in 1942. It featured, Gestapo, Wehrmacht, SS (I was 2nd-in-command of the SS), French Resistance, Nazi Party and the average french citizens. It never launched because the community leaders were a bunch of trolls but the idea was amazing. In a setting of that type it allows passive and combat role-play. There were also idea's of having another server connected to the first that would be a German Wehrmacht/SS HQ. This would be for training purposes and other major German Heer (Army) events. Then another server that would be a work or POW camp. The camp would have captured French Resistance members and downed allied pilots. Plans for escapes would be major events, the escapee's would then go to the Paris server and hide-out. Etc.

Anyway if this is decided for another server I still have much of the materials, sounds and models from Reich Role-play if its wanted...

1) Who said an RP server needs to always be the same one map, or be one city?

Why not having multi-factioning allowed, so people have characters in each faction (primary faction American, Secondary Italian/Brittish) so, if some one is primarily american, but there is a force imbalance then they can go to another character with an RP'd leave.

Anyways, Why not just have them set up like campaigns in Company of Heroes? Some what Scenario based RP. It doesn't always HAVE to be, but that way it represents characters actually going through the theatre of war, moving around the country, etc.

I'm ranting in a random order so, example.

22nd Infantry divsion, comprised of x (amount of HGN) Sergeants/higher ranks and or privates commanding namelessss charcters in an RP fight? Kinda like how scritped machinema works but without the scripts being pre-made and improve'd.

Don't mind me, im' tired and not strining this all together well.

Why not have multiple cities involved? One week could be a few days of Stalingrad, the next week it could be x operation, mix it up with some. Give people some short term anticipation.

Have it so one day they're behind enemy lines and beyond communication range, and so they're on their toes and wondering how the fuck they got there, then have a giant flash back to the events before that.

I don't see much potential for a WWII server RP wise if it was to be in one map constantly. And frankly, that's one of the issues I find with most RP servers. After you've known a map, you know the map. There's never a sense of unfamilierity regardless of what character your on.

Alright, not trying to be an asshole or something but by the looks of this you know very little about WW2. The idea of role-play with citizens in an occupied country means... Theres only 1 army in that country, and its an enemy army.. That means ppl can't be like OH I'M GONNA GO JOIN THE RUSSIAN ARMY!. And to have an RP server thats actually a war like on CoH or RO and just have it "organized" isn't RP. There is no in-depth character developement, there is no passive. It will fail epicly. Only way to make this work that involves all types of serious role-play is what I mentioned before. An occupied city that has an underground resistance against the occupiers. Essentially it looks like HL2RP on the base, enemy occupiers and a resistance. However, it also features lots of politics between Vichy France and the Nazi Party.

Old RadScript got out sourced a while ago.

Even so, it'll need shitloads of modifications, adding models, sweps, derma, HUD and fix any errors there already are in the script. Not something easily done when you don't have someone who knows lua to do it...

It's not hard to edit a script.
You don't even need any LUA knowledge for it.

Why dont we make a Valkyria Chronicles rp its pretty much like WW2 the war in it is called European War 2 (EW2) and they blame it all on the Darcsen (people with blue/black hair)

Everything is doable.  I'm scripting atm. I'm a noob but I'm doing the weapons.

Afro it was just a guess cause someone said we shouldn't make ww2 rp instead something similiar  cause everyone would go like "I R SS AND I SHOOT YOUR JEW FACE !" .....

^ Wont happen anyway. It SS will be a flag ,wich can only be given by an admin.  There wont be weapons for normal citizens. ( If people cant rp without weapons... your problem. ) Just for resistance and factions.

Since noone seems interested anymore, since this new stuff of exile... Locking this untill someone complains. Thanks for those people who actually wanted to play it, blame Exile.
