The Daern
(Canon Essential)
What Are We?
We are the last of the Clannical family known as the "Daern", also known as the Firstborn Magic users.
We are the Zealots, the Elitists, the overall Lords, of Magic, but we have our weaknesses, great Sacrifices
have been made to come this far, and we have been whittled down to a mere dozen of our origonal number.
We fight for a right, in this now-cruel world, a few of us have obtained Real-world power, like Markus, but alot of us remain in the shadows.
We are between Good and Evil, the Zealous Priesthood, and the Demonic Necromancers.
We fight, to keep Magic away from those who would use it ill against our young World.
We are the Daern, simply. The Ones putting our hands before two warring sides, fighting the True Evil.
How do I Join?
You Don't. Put Simply.
You are Chosen.
What Parameters do I need to meet to be Chosen?
Hmm... Well let's see now;
You have to be Trustworthy
You have to have Dedication, this is not a "Get a character, and go on once a month". This is a Commitment.
You have to prove you can goto Great lengths to inspire RP.
You have to be Passive, and take up to two actions just to get out of bed in the morning. (Not just -duck and walk away.)
You have to use Magic respectfully, and show no "swephugging".
You may get a greater chance of being chosen if you RP the usual "Neglected Farmboy" as seen in most Fantasy Novels.
And the most Important: You must never use Magic in starting a fight, only in Defense, or Peacefully ending another's.
Pro's and Con's.
Pro's:
Acess to the Legendary Magicite, and use of up to three types. (Passive and Aggressive)
Elitism over Magic.
A Small, but Functional, Floating/Flying Fortress.
Greater Tomes in the Bookcase of the Magi Fortress.
An Unknown Family Name.
Con's:
Small Numbers.
Over-usage of Magic can lead to Necromatic Corruption.
No Dark Magic, Ever.
Arch-Nemesis of the "Order of Merlin".
Unprovoked use of Magic will lead to Power Stripping, and Outcastment from the Family.
Favoured Target of Witch Hunters and Inquisitors.
Highly Desired by "Royal Families". Could lead to Capture/Enslavement.
Has to use a Secret Identity in Public.
Ranks/Roster.
We use None, the Faction/Family is Secretive.
We are all Brothers/Sisters, Relatives etc...
We may have some IC Differences in Power, but that is purely IC.
Magi Fortress
An odd Concoction, the combination of Earth and Air Magicite, created a floating pillar that could be "built" onto with Earth Manipulation and Modern Medieval materials.
In return a floating Sanctuary was created, only acessible to those few with Teleportation/Translocation Spells, or the use of a suspended rope.

Tomes
Over the last few centuries, the Daern have accumulated quite a Library, with many Tomes on the Instruction of Magic.
But recently, the Archmage of The order of Merlin used quite an advanced Translocation spell to infiltrate the floating Sanctuary, and made off with quite a few Tomes, the few remaining were scattered by the Exiting spell.
These Tomes are essential to the Tutoring of new Apprentices! And thus must be retrieved at all costs.

It's the only Valid Magic Group, besides Dom/Akira's work, Gloomy ass. And it works nicely into the Canon.
Mind you, saying that... there are several other valid Magic Using group, and this is liable to be one of the main Focal Points of the Canon RP.
And I don't see why a dozen or so of the groups like "Fate" demand to use Magic-casters... Tbh it's kinda retarded as there will only be like one or two Magi to start, and constantly whittling the growing number with Inquisitors.
I canceled my group. To boring, Also, I was going to hire the mages from Merlins school after the completed it.
Yeah, Dom & Akira need to get their shit together, I completed the Canon in a good 10-20 minutes, and it's taking those two what? Two weeks to complete an average backstory.
Well, You could always try helping them. The main thing I noticed is that the magic groups spells need balancing, This is like ducky's idea, There is thirty percent chance that a spell will fail and damage the user instead.

You know what Values are like, it'd be pretty hard to implement, that's why there's the Magical Corruption etc...
Because when you become something like a Necromancer, there's no going back, and your main attack gradually kills you.
Plus overuse of Magic can be dubbed Metagaming, and get that individual removed/outcasted.
