Title: Day/Night cycle for rp_year1595
Post by: Sikth on 08-01-2009
Hey guys. This topic came up on the Vampire Legion of Crussaria thread, and I thought I should just make another thread to stop Ducky's post from getting spammed.

Anyways, I feel it'd help certain roleplays like thieveries, assassinations and vampires.

If you guys want I could get you a way to do it and perhaps a willing mapper could implement it to year1595.

Any suggestions / discussion etc, post it here.

Could be done with lua. Manipulation of the env_sun and light_environment entities. Hard to edit maps with lua though :l

I know TnB use a dynamic, I heard them talking about it one day.

Perhaps I'll put up a thread there and see what I can do to get some help on doing it.

It's would provide some good role-plays, but don't try to do it before you finish the inventory.

WOW, I just played on that 1595 map..That was the WORST map I've ever played, that was fucking worse thant hat one map we were gonna use for the Stalker RP. One castle, a TINY tavern, tiny town, a TINY forge, a tiny ass mine or cave or whatever, and 70% of the map is water, woohoo.

I've gotta agree, I was underwhelmed when I saw it. Borders are just invisible walls surrounded by water and water does take up most of the map. I think knights and mages would get tired of swimming all the time.

The village level is way better. Though a community map is hopefully better.
