Title: Forum Suggestions:
Post by: Lucidius on 07-12-2009
I say, we should have a stickied thread for very popular gossip/news. That way people who havn't participated in an event could hear about it ICly, or use it for discussion and such. Example being:

Some mysterious guy winning the annual tournament without breaking a sweat.

Giant explosion being heard in the mountains east.

etcetc

Also, Famous Gilds and such, should be listed. i.e very infamous or famous guild, like bandits, or a special company of paladins.

I think a gossip section would be a great idea.  Not sure we have any famous guilds at the moment though.

Why is the RP based on Christianity when RO is based on Norse Mythology, like are we supposed to ignore all the obvious Norse references or what.
Title: Re: Forum Suggestions:
Post by: Celtic on 15-12-2009
I don't see the RP as being based on Christianity at all.  It's more of a generic good vs evil fight.

Tund, your gonna need to read up on Norse Mythology and then make the story, or work with some one else and make one.

God is a generic term.

Oden is a god. Allah is a god. It could be Jewish.

So there.

K, Saint is someone acknowledged by the Christian Order, and Diablery is the practice of devil worshiping and magic.

Well. I think it was chrono who was talking to me about this and the actual story line of RO combinds both Christianity and Norse gods

Smack him for lying.

Definition of the game.

"Rag´na`rok´    (rå´nå`rǒk´)
n.   1.   (Norse Myth.) The so-called "Twilight of the Gods" (called in German Götterdämmerung), the final destruction of the world in the great conflict between the Æsir (gods) on the one hand, and on the other, the giants and the powers of Hel under the leadership of Loki (who is escaped from bondage)."

Sorry i was wrong. Ragnarok is based on a Manhwa but we can still do RP the way we want.

I take this out of the wikipedia :

" Much of the game's mythos is based on Norse mythology, but its style and settings have been influenced by a wide variety of international cultures."

So far I have missed any references to the Ragnarok of Norse mythology, although it is clearly where the game gets its name.  I'm just wondering does the game actually have anything to do with Ragnarok?

I understand the references to Norse mythology, I just have yet to see anything relating to the Ragnarok of Norse Mythology, the one with all the natural disasters and fighting gods...
