First one was better =)
The 2nd one is obviously too complex for me to understand it, but both of them are very well made.
Second one was a quickie from graphics class, the first one is my personal fav.
V2 looks like a bunch of raccoons are staring at me from the darkness... Very nice work :D.
Hope you don't mind Lockey, I messed with some of the values and slapped a filter on it and got this cool looking result (I also added what I think is a neat effect at the top)

The effect at the top is kind of neat, but the bottom is just blurry. Nice work.

With that effect it should be hatched on everything (as done) CEPT the guy. To add a sense of desertion.
