Title: DVD Drive Problems?
Post by: Snowblind on 13-10-2009
I doubt this is an actual problem related to my DVD drive, and instead, a problem related to the game I'm trying to run - Battlefield 2142.  It USED to work - but now, when I launch the application, it tells me that the disc is not inside the drive.  I've reinstalled, tried base version, tried reinstalling and patching, nothing is working.  I know the disc is not damaged, because it is the very same disc I used a few years ago to install the game - and the disc hasn't gotten any scratches since. Don't know what else to do, google searches aren't helping. Any ideas?

EDIT: Turns out I had somehow had the .exe for Battlefield 2142 set to run in compatibility mode for Windows 2000. Now that that's fixed, I have to figure out why I get an instant black screen and crash after the splash screen leaves :P
