So, my computer has been being a bitch to me, it's not reading a bunch of stuff anymore, alot of errors, I took it all apart and put it back together to see if it would work again yesterday, yet nothing fixed. So now I have decided I am going to toss this PC off of my roof and buy a new one.
I have increased my spending budget from $1200 to $2000. I have chosen some parts, and here they are:
Motherboard: Intel DX58S0 x58 Express Chipset - $250
CPU: Intel i7 920 Quad Core - $300
RAM: Mushkin 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 1600 - $110
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 295 - $500
CD Drives: LionDisk LBLU Slim USB 2.0 External 2x Blu-Ray/BLURAY model: BD-5500A - $135
Harddrive: Western Digital Caviar? GreenPower? 1TB - $120
OS: Vista Home Premium - $260
(The prices are averaged together)
But I need help, I am not sure on the power usage of this monster, nor do i know of any good cheap monitors (mine just cracked in the corner when a buddy threw a can at the wall and bounced and hit it), so any suggestions for the two while remaining in my budget? (By the way, I already got a bad ass new logitech mouse and a badass Logitech G15 Keyboard, so no advice on those)
And, by the way, if you hardly know any math, that leaves my spending budget for a case, cooling system, and possibly a new monitor at $305
Edit: Forgot to put down a sound card too, lololol, first time that's happened... ._.
Sound Card: Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional Sound Card
Edit again: I have decided that $2000 wouldnt be enough, so now this costs $2448, just tell me if this is good or not:
Case: http://www.amamax.com/80casiatxmis.html (http://www.amamax.com/80casiatxmis.html)
Cooling system: 1 80mm LED fan already installed, 2x 80 mm fans i'm going to toss in, and 1 120mm fan i'm going to toss in as well (Is this enough to cool it down?)
Power: A 1000 Watt power supply i saw at Best Buy going for $200
Monitor: Envision G918W1
And I'm planning on overclocking my video card, and overclocking my processor to maybe 3.3- 3.5 Ghz.
Edit again again LOLOLOLOL: Radek has shown me a much better, newer, cheaper HDD. Danke.
Thank joo Radek. :3
WHOA BEAST OF A PC. PSU? Hmm just a guess but I'd say at least over 850-950W to be safe. But maybe less. Monitor? Uhhh idk depends on how much room and money soo... I couldn't really say. For a graphics card like that I'd say the bigger the better. Well good luck with your system! :D
Oh actually I just remembered. Check this out it's a psu calculator! :)http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp
I have Soundmax HD, which is a software that acts like a sound card. Came with my motherboard.
Tl;dr specs, so...
Wow nice PC!
Nice!
Sweet, try to make sure it doesnt melt
Nice! ;D

I dunno if you bought ur comp yet but dont get the pwr supply from bestbuy. I work at BB and we got some shitty pwr supplies. If your gunna overclock your i7 dont use the stock fan, its really cheaply made and its gunna get hot
