Title: New Headphones
Post by: Paintcheck on 15-07-2009
I'm in the market for a new headset as my current Sennheiser HD 457 is on its last legs. The right ear has a broken wire in it so no sound comes from the right side and the left ear had the same problem but I cut the insulation off and connected the broken wires back together so I have 1 ear working, but it's a pain to fix those tiny wires so I think I'm not going to bother fixing the right ear and just get a new headset entirely. Does anyone have any good ones they know of?

I'm looking for something around $50 preferably with a mic attached.

Well, there's a nice mic/headphones pair that I like.

Turtle Beach Earforce X1

It says its for the Xbox, but it works for the PC too.

Does anyone use the Razer Piranha? Is it any good? Also do you need a 7.1 sound card to use the Logitech G35? I've been doing some research and some say you do others say you don't. It connects via USB port so I suppose you wouldn't... :/

Well, from my experience, it's best to get a good quality headset, lower quality ones tend to bread after 6 - 1 year of use, something always goes wrong with it.

I got a 70 quid (about 130 bucks) headset 5,1 surround sound, metal covering the wire, (microphones not attach, but that makes sense, because its always the first thing to break)

The sound quality is imense, and no problems yet, if you want a good headset, search around on the internet at local stores for a decent 5.1, and just spent that extra bit of money, because you will end up paying more because the cheap ones always break later on anyway.

Okay well. I have been doing a LOT of research on headsets and I have found the Cyber Snipa Sonar 5.1 Headset. It's very reasonably priced, which I like, and doesn't seem to have any major problems... Anyone use this? If you do tell me how they are. Or if you have any better 5.1 alternatives.
