A 'SicKNeSS' Map

Im not sure where I should post this, but I just got a really uber crazy idea for a map design, I think the layout should look something like this...




You can see that this design has:
- A small village for stalkers ( Left of Center)
- An armory village which can be used for a faction ( Bottom Right )
- A good place for Monolith ( Top Right )
- Abandoned buildings for freelancers or bandits ( Scattered Everywhere )

So tell me what you think about this design, I already started working on the layout.

EDIT: Another Update! I just edited the town greatly, moved buildings around, and changed their materials, and added a new building. But I found out a new error.. When I try to launch this map in gmod, after compiling it of course, I get some Hulk Engine error. I will look into this error and try to find out what causing it, but for now here are the pics of the town.

A two story building I made. and on the side it shows what's inside the first floor and second floor.

This is just a house which can be used for a faction. It has two rooms, and a closet, one room for the leaders room or w/e and the other for the barracks/armory room.



And this is just a view of the whole village. I couldn't noclip around, so this is the best view I had.

Not a bad idea, nice one!

I could help out with the mapping if you need help,
i'm alright with mapping buildings and such, but not really good with textures

i'm just interested cause it would be an awesome map

Well I've Got alot of time on my hand. like Rico, Im also willing to help, the ideas sound solid.

Thanks for the offering your time to help make this, I will send you all this map file. But first, I will need help figuring out whats causing the error to compile the map :S

On the bottom-left, make a huge garbage area, and in the center, make a standard base/town for Duty.

For Freedom, leave the Stalker town, and I guess Military gets the armory

Yeah, I might do that since we need a garbage place for bandits, but also we will have a lot of scattered abandoned buildings so yeah.

EDIT: I fixed the bug!! I can finally compile, right now I am almost done with the village, Ill post screens up soon.

I believe the reason the map wouldn't compile is when you were trying to make the underground bar, is that you didn't check if all your corners were complete, and that all your walls were complete, maybe thats what caused the compile error.

Yeah, it could of been that, since I used carve to make a big hole in the ground, and then covered it up and placed stairs. I'm not sure, but at least the error is gone, and I got the village complete or almost complete.

It's called dirttrack something like that idk, but if you search dirt or track in the textures, you will find it.

You still working on the map sickness?

Yes and no. Since there are like 4 maps or w/e the amount is in the making for STALKER roleplay, and Hostel's map is the main one, then I don't think we need my map.

I don't understand, wouldnt it be easier for ALL of you mappers to just work on a single map, instead of a map that'll never be finished for months and will probably not be used?

Nope, most combined mapping projects end up badly. Unless all 4 mappers can map at the same level and have the same visual taste and style. Very hard to pull off.
