how does one exactly 'earn' money from these territories? are there some kind of money printers or something
You should always add a STALKER faction for general stalker-governed camps. They could be bargained with to go under Freedom/Duty/Military rule or fought with. Their attack capabilities would have to be greatly reduced due to the fact most STALKERs are loners.

Fuck you thats how.
IDK Commisar or Last.Exile was banging on about something similar to this to give factions a reason to fight, I'm pretty much assuming they gain money from the traders/stalkers in their area of influence like the faction is some sort of feudal lord conquering fiefs. Except none of the STALKERs (As in players) actually pay this money, because that well would dry up in a matter of minutes on the account of no one having any substantial amount of money
Can stalkers help either of the factions to conquer a certain area?

Dunno, but I belive that if its a Faction Fight, no Stalkers should be involved.

It depends on the scenario I'd think.
Be interesting , but can't see military owning stalker areas. Unless military come in and kill everyone or control it and force people out.
Split the topic.
I still think there should be Loner-specific fortified bases count as a faction. Well, I mean stalker bases should be like Greek city-states, they maintain contact with each other but aren't unified.
This is for major factions so they can actually make money.
