Who said we had to use the galactic civil war era why not the clone wars i mean it means more jobs different opportunities and more individualism. There could be spies,soldiers,mercs,and even merchants.And please just think about it rather than just outright saying no.

Yeah we do we have the clone trooper model in garrysmod.org and we have the battle droids along with a couple of vehicles.
