Title: Super Duper Gay Virus
Post by: deluxulous on 26-04-2009
Yesterday morning I had left my PC on throughout the night, and when I came to it, I had 4 windows of Firefox running, and pop-ups and errors. I have NO idea how that happened, because when I went to bed it was fine. My parents/sister said they didn't go onto my PC that morning. So, my first question is this. How could this possibly have happened?
I'm going to reformat soon, since I can't seem to eliminate the cause of the virus, even after installing NOD32 Antivirus.

Symptoms include:

Errors saying "Systems.exe has encountered an error and must shut down" "Cisvc.exe has performed an illegal operation and will shut down"

Pop-ups for antivirus programs etc.

Installer for XP-Shield (Rogue malware/spyware program)

All processes in Task Manager are normal programs, like steam and yahoo widgets, or Windows Processes.

And some sort of message that says " is a tracked virus (something like that) data interception cannot be stopped."

Firefox not showing images sometimes, and scrolling on these forums sometimes meshes stuff together, I.E. the image/page will stay up even though I scrolled down.

UPDATE: Tracking progress activated.
*** ADDRESS 0x17DA839A ***
Cannot deactivate spyware program.

Anyone know what this is? How I can remove it?

Its probably Addestination. That happened to me. I never figured out how to remove it, so I just don't use Internet Explorer. I use Sea Monkey.
