I think it would be really awesome if we had chapters in books for players to read in game, much like Oblivion. How might you ask? Well, if all the best creative members got together and started writing made-up lore, history, and events about the zone, we could use them and put them in books so they can be read like they do in TES IV: Oblivion. I loved reading books in that game.
Another great one would be passages in journals of random S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s in the zone. It would give the players a chance to articulate how this particular man felt being in the zone, his feeling toward duty or freedom, or just simply describing the zone. This would also open up the a quest option of "Find the journal of..." for some RUs.
The best part about this is that the writers don't need any experience in coding. They can just post their stories and stuff in the forum. A coder can take care of the rest. This really gives a chance for the community to get involved in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. RP project and be a part of it.

I don't see how this can lead to minginess. The stories will have to be approved here by devs before they actually make it into the game. None of that crap where anyone can make a note in-game.
Mine-Dog HL2RP on Venetian did this perfectly.
I'm not sure who coded it, but if I had to guess, it was Wolfmatyr.
Try asking some of them for code help, or do it yourself if you know what to do.

After killing a bloodsucker and fighting off bandits a good book will do just fine.Actual this idea is actual pretty good.Like you buy the books.Would offer some more trader missions.
It would be awesome to be able to write a log in you pda. and you can send it to people to show them. Also when you kill someone find their dead body you can take out their PDA and see what they have wrote, any plans the faction he is in have that he wrote down, any location of stashes, food, weapons ect.

You should be able to make notes in game, but you would have to apply for it, or include it in TT.
That way there will be no--or at least less--mingey notes lying around everywhere.
