I am going to talk to Spades about possible revival and outcome of our good but rather dead FRP server. However i want people to discuss Potential Roleplay Server Idea's here. We don't want to have more apoc servers, stalker holds up that line of servers for us.
I'm thinking it could be an admin dependent server. Halo marines stay in a base and wait for an admin to give a mission to attack covenant or the parasites. It's just an idea or a type of idea.

We could do our own starship troopers server which is like that. But the main problem with our current servers is that they are too admin dependent and we don't have that many "good" admins to control the servers.
Serious roleplay is a dying breed in GMod and OpenAura shit doesn't count.
Give up on RP, you should host actual gaming servers for mainstream that people actually play if you want to increase the playerbase, though I doubt it will be any more intelligent than the current one.

Tried moving into general gaming servers but we don't have the staff to manage those kinds of servers like fretta\build. The ones that don't need admin servers like l4d, bad company 2 etc are not unique so the servers are pointless.

Any form of militaristic style RP would be fine. SSTRP is a prime example of it, but there are plenty of other servers for that.
Actual game servers would be nice, but people barely populated them when we actually had them up.

Not my problem, if you scheduled your updates and carefully updated stuff we would not have a issue with it crashing all the time then asking me who does not have direct access to the dedi right now apart from via my phone to put it back up.

People DO post shit on how to improve it and even message you I beleive. THere has also been peopel who have given you content and item fixes such as paint and Duran who either fixed and made sweps or fixed and made artifats, yet they never made it onto the server

Reskins. All fun and pretty but not exactly vital\necessary, the kind of things i would include in a large update. But there really isn't much else out there anymore to add.
Just please Le....We don't need another server that will be worked on for about a month then just die in its own glory...

It's focus is the economy, not items. All items are very cheap in Crussaria, it's meant to be dynamic so the players decide the price, not the script and that all items are spread around and don't magically appear, hense a actual point to developing stuff. It's not a RPG gamemode, it's a roleplay gamemode with some minor rpg elements, although they only exist to provide a more interesting world.
Players cannot get rewarded for doing jobs otherwise, they would depend on admins giving them money or some dumb paycheck and not actually do any work and the economy would then be focused on items via the trade menu instead of player developed shit. At least this way items are done and controlled by player input instead of admin\paycheck\trader menu.

SST is a shit idea. There are hundreds of SST servers and they require a huge and active admin staff to ensure there is stuff for players to do at all times. HGN does not have the people to do that. There's a reason most SST communities only run SST is because it takes a lot of manpower to keep it interesting. HGN doesn't have that.
I am with Rav and Ragolution, another server isn't going to help. We barely have enough admins for the 2 servers we have. Focus on STALKER and Crussaria.
I have to agree also with the Crussaria and Stalker points. We're currently attempting a plan to fix SRP's economy to save people the hair tugging that'll come with a mass wipe. (I said that would come with, not that theres going to be one, before people see this and go bonkers.) And the new map(s) would be, hopefully, enough of a boon to activity to re-entrench interest. As for Crussaria I'd like to see it get active with its story and playerbase. Ive had a backstory for a character in the works for awhile now. Not as long as many of the others, but I still gave it some undivided attention, and in such I'd like to get the character working and begin forging his story in-game.
Crussaria is fine, it just needs people. I will get on and RP with anyone without items or admins if anyone wants to passive. It doesn't need content, it needs activity.

I had fun just RPing as a blacksmith. However it stopped being fun when people just constantly bitched about me taking too long, not selling them armor that should cost a fortune, and trying to treat me like an NPC that just barfs up weapons/armor for coin.
I would love to help return to the GMod servers, but I still can't get further than the load screen.
Other than that, there are things SRP could use to spruce it up. It' works like it is, but there are certain things about it that can be made to make it feel more like Stalker.
Like the inventory and HUD can be changed to make it look like Stalker. More playermodels would be nice, instead of having rookies everywhere. Basically, just adding a fresh coat of paint over SRP would be nice. I'm sure there are some people on HGN that could help with it. You just need to get asking so others get to asking.

Before this turns into sniping at who isn't doing what (or rather before this devolves further into sniping at who isn't doing what...) how about the people running Crussaria/SRP/any other server where the issue is "no one is helping" POST A FUCKING TOPIC SAYiNG WHAT KIND OF HELP THEY WANT instead of making us play guessing games. Crussaria already has that with the "post event ideas" but a second topic called "Why the fuck are none of you joining?" would probably also further that goal.
As you can see people don't actually have anything new to add here, you either fix SRP or make an STTRP server that will die as quickly as FRP did.
Although I recommend you to go with the former because there is a ton of glitches and bugs and some new content won't hurt either.
FINISH THE GOD DAMN MAP FOR STALKER RP AND YOU MIGHT MAKE ALOT MORE PEOPLE SMILE. The map you had planned out for SRP sounded solid.
Oh and yeah, I am on the side of the people. Center your resources towards CRP and SRP. CRP has a lot of potential to be awesome.
You should make SRP more appealing to the new members and fresh joiners. Put a fancy hud, inventory and backpack browser. Style up the guns, give them some better sounds than that. I have a few friends that are interested in SRP because I just tend to go play it whenever they want me to play with them. But I think when they see it they'll just give it up at the same time. It took me a few weeks to understand the beauty of SRP, and all that was driven by a stalker-faminism(whatever that means). If I wasn't that of a stalker fan I probly wouldn't have stayed.
You need to make a cake look good for people to actually taste it's greatness.

Here are suggestions.
There is alot to add to srp, for example, the pistol's accuracy.
And HUD/Inventory is a good idea too.
And of course as alot of people said before me, scrap the FRP server.

Why not work on hostile conflict or SRP/Crussaria

How is Skyrim so 100% different from any other fantasy setting? What does "make it Skyrim" mean specifically? Crussaria's canon is open for writing right now so if you have an idea for canon write it up. Saying "Make it like this" is not helpful when Crussaria already has magic, swords, and other general fantasy tropes.
Frankly TES isn't known for its amazing storyline, it's known for being open world fantasy roleplaying. Crussaria is already that with a far more interesting canon. Lrn2imagination instead of just "I like this game, let's copy it" because that does not work. If your server is called "Skyrim Roleplay" your players are all going to say "I r the chosen 1 dragon born!111ONE!1111!!!!!" just like they did in FO RP and to a certain extent in STALKER RP. That is why using established game canon is a horrible, horrible idea. Take the elements you like out of Skyrim and put your own spin on it. Do not try to copy it.

Which will lead to the issue FO had of NO ONE paying attention to the canon and acting like it was New Vegas instead of the custom canon. That will happen here. And before you say "oh well we'll just tell them and it will be fine" just ask how well that worked in FO (it didn't at all).

HL2 also tends to be incredibly shitty. Everyone isn't Gordon Freeman but they
are all "super badass CP" or "super badass rebel". That's a terrible example. Look at any of the "established" HL2 RPs. I guarantee you
ALL of the server regulars/old school players on that server are not RPing citizens, they are RPing rebels or Combine. That is because being a citizen is shitty and boring. The only reason most are average people is because they are waiting for an admins dick to open up so they can suck it and become Combine or Rebel.
Take the elements you like from Skyrim and mod them to fit Crussaria, not the other way around. Why is that so unacceptable to you that you'd rather just rip off another game? Imagination makes roleplay better.

Fallout is a sub-server like Terraria\Minecraft, i don't see it as a main focus point of HGN anymore but something of a server where a certain few good roleplayers can roleplay like it was for awhile, maybe it could come into the spot light again, but until then we will wait and see.

Not to be a buzzkill, my silverknight, but look at our history? Wasn't Crussaria supposed to be awesome with GALLONS of content? Wasn't fallout supposed to be amazing with custom lore and >> GALLONS OF CONTENT.
The problem isn't that there's no interest it's just the lack of resources, and no offence meant, I doubt Jake will be able to churn out content like HGN used to. He's just one guy and there's a limit to what one person can do in terms of anything.
It's an admirable goal, and yeah, Metro 2033 sounds pretty awesome, but we really can't consider slapping up another server when we have an SRP server that's "Boring", a FRP server that's circling the drain and a Crussaria/Fantasy RP server that's on its last knee.
While Crussaria is on its way back to being a good server and having hype like back in the day, FRP isn't going to have that hype again. Crussaria should really be our focal point; You say you want to make it a key server- a major part of the community, then let's take a step back from the unfinished projects and clean up Crussaria until it's as good as-
hell, until it's BETTER than SRP. Why use Jake to generate content for a gamemode that isn't even running, especially when you have servers twisting in the wind. When you put up SRP you didn't have 30-odd projects just waiting to be finished, did you? And before you say it, those were just random servers. TF2, Build, whatever, they were never meant to be important but right now you're working on three projects that you consider
important: One of them is dead, the other is trying not to die, and the last isn't even consummated yet.

I think we need a map update for crussaria. Just one more adding in something to that blank place, make it seem alive. Make the village more city like? Something! The mapping you did silver is great, the medieval style is amazing on the buildings. But as of now its getting to be that empty place we all know.

When i don't have work\degree work to do. I want to edit the map and add a new snow section, we a fort and alittle bit of wilderness. Essentially a snowy district. This would connect to Taren Point and another part of the map, essentially the inbetween part. The sky part next to ravendale will be expanded to be more fieldish, then it slows down to a small forest. The river will enter rocks and there will be a path that you walk into and takes you to a small tunnel with torches which then leads out into a small forest and a sandy beach with a ocean. Where a dock and a few ships are located, a little port place.
Those are my plans for Crussaria's next map update.

I am not working on 3 projects. SRP doesn't need much more other than managerial attention and bug fixes as it always does. Any major improvements are just added bonuses that really are not needed in a roleplay world\script. It's very immersive as it is. I ran out of idea's on how to improve srp's script awhile back.
Crussaria's map, script and content are up to par, it has everything it needs on that end, adding more will not improve roleplay or population. I have a huge amount of stuff that even srp does not have and probably shouldn't (Npc traders, lol). It just needs lore, management and well, new players. Alot of players join and show a huge amount of interest, but we don't have the staff to keep it to a certain standard of enjoyment.
Fallout as i said is not my focus point, i will be doing fixes, tweaks and adding additional things to bring it up to par but i am not going all out again on it. It's focus point is for a small playerbase not a major player server like SRP.
Crussaria won over Starwars in the end in attention if anyone is wondering.
Bugfixes, many models should get their animations properly linked (at least the normal ones).

Well, that's odd. Maybe I should add a more clear desciption of my suggestion. But I guess when I noted out "Skyrim RP" everybody thinks it's about the Dragonborn shit. No, I did not mean that. I just had an interest in the conflict betweent the Imperials and Stormcloaks, and all the other smaller factions and houses that either suffer or benefit from the conflict. Of course, it shouldn't be just about the two major parties fighting. But it's more of a thing happening behind all else.
But then again, when I read the thread name, it says "potential". So I'm just throwing out ideas and whatnot.
