Dystopia is a cyberpunk themed total conversion of Half Life 2, created by an amature development team and released to the public for free.

Dystopia places the player into tense combat situations in a high tech world spanned by computer networks. As either Punk Mercenaries or Corporate Security Forces the player will fight through the physical world to gain access, via jack-in terminals, to cyberspace.

Cyberspace is a three dimensional representation of the world's network. Inside cyberspace players will launch programs to hack into systems linked to the physical world while fighting off enemy hackers and defending critical systems. Gameplay progresses through inter-linked physical and cyberspace objectives, some are completed in either the physical world or cyberspace, others only by a well timed combination of the two.

Whether the player is a heavily augmented combat mercenary armed to the teeth with the latest in firepower, or a twitch reflex cyberdecker racing to infiltrate a cyberspace node; they'll be immersed in an action packed battle. Only through skillful use of the high tech arsenal we're making available and intelligent team play will players truly jack-in and kick ass.

Team Dystopia is a collection of dedicated and talented gamers who are creating an action packed multiplayer game. Dystopia draws on the themes and concepts of the cyberpunk genre and implements ideas born out of years of gaming experience. With a diligently designed gameplay system, we hope to produce the next step in online multiplayer gaming.

This player is defending a jacker, basicly a jacker(many different names) is someone who uses the cyber deck and fights in cyber space for their teams cause. These players are very valuable because with out them the enamy can take your turrets, and much more. If you don't have anyone doing this your team will :Disintegrating-Soldier: .

In cyber space you can kind of float, on your plane, different floors allow the changing of your "floor" basicly if you want onto a certine wall you are then walking on that wall as the floor, you then can jump as normal to that plane. You can also float in different areas of cyber space.

I've played it, I do all the cyber things, like setting up fireshields and preventing the other team from hacking.
Everyone else is too busy shooting and killing so I'm usually the only one on the team in the cyberzone.

Well you have to have some defenders or attackers or your cyber people get killed.

Fun game though huh?

A perfect example of what rohok was posting about, few changes and fechers*. yea theres some new weopons and "cyberspace" but its still a generic source mod.

half generic. I love it more then Stalker but that is cause I got stalker off steam and it has too many bugs to play, no skybox and the start area is filled to the teeth with blood suckers it is weird. I HAVE NO MODS INSTALLED to stalker.

Good mod, can get a bit boring, Go try Eternal Silence, that shits intense! BASICLY Starwars but cooler

Let's put this simply, Dystopia is a VERY competitive game, and the maps are extroidanairly Atmospheric, get the right crowd, with mics and such, and you have a GO!
