Its kind of hard to have "chaos" when most of the citizens are IC. On top of that, are you really going to be rioting and causing chaos when you're basicly living in a naval base? Probably not, becuase you know you'll wind up with a bayonet in your gut if you try.

I don't as much care about the Medieval setting as I do with stuff that can be done in Minecraft. And THERE ARE flying ships. Not in Novarium, but over the desert there is a ship in the air. It can be seen from Novarium I think.

Guns can't be done in Minecraft. That's what I was getting at. And Medieval times had tournaments and games. Minecraft has minecarts, so rollercoasters are possible. Minecraft has redstone and switches, so anything using that is fine. And who says spleef can't work in survival? It's on peaceful. You don't have to have lava at the bottom either if that's what you meant. But anyone could clear out their inv anyway. Just have a small drop at the bottom and they can't get back up until the game is over. And a place with games would be more fun than RPing being in a city doing normal daily stuff like: get some wood, get some reeds. Make some books. Walk around. Nothing to do. Exit.

They didnt have rollercoasters in medieval times. Thats honestly just as retarded as the air ship. Also, reseting the server will only mean people have to build new cities. People will spawn things to make said cities, cycle continues. Unless you have am admin on 24/7 to moderate everything that happens, it'll end up as the same thing as before, only without the World Edit fuckups.

And to geccoy, Novarium's Technology Gives us Practically No Advantage ic, and No advantage OOC. We don't have machine guns, our Bionic parts are part of our faction's Backstory, And don't give us any real advantage. and if people had a problem with Our Faction's technology, They should have Wiped us out When both icly, and oocly, we were a Single ship, and 5 armed crewmembers. Nobody cared then, But as soon as we got Remotely Powerful, everyone want's us Nerfed... i don't get it.

Well, Some people don't Enjoy the Idea of Role playing as some Mage wizard, or whatever. fantasy doesn't Mean Magic Only, Steampunk is a type of fantasy, and this server -is- Aceon Fantasy RP, it says so right up there. And another thing, I hate the idea of Magic Oracles, mind controllers, etc. But I Don't Demand they are removed or downgraded.

This "Steampunk vs. Medieval" thing really needs sorting badly. I'm fine with either (would like Fantasy more but whatever) but it needs to be consistent. Now that Ranma/Anton rage quit that will cut down on a lot of the issues with abuse/DEAP/everything so a wipe would probably be good. But some sort of canon would be nice also, even just a barebones "This is Aceon, it has [list of creatures] [list of technology]" paragraph. [/list][/list]

OKOKOK! Lets stop arguing over whether steam ruined the server. It didn't, but it didn't help it either. Novarium are from the 1700s correct? well this is a medieval server so i would think that means you cant go past 1500.  Novariums only difference to any other faction is their muskets. Which are shit anyway. A musket can only shoot one, is incredibly inaccurate and generally doesn't kill with the shot (the wound would over time because of the lack of medical in that era). I now agree with the server wipe. And also agree that steam, not 'such' a good idea. But still the amount of stuff that can be powered with coal. Should be fun for you to play around with. Now back to the topic. If we do wipe we can either spend the last days having a big world war. But that would be pointless seeing as the world means nothing, it would be rushed meaning no tatics. Ect. Really I or another member could just write a non biased ending to the world (working on it now will post later) so fuck any last days on the server. Now after that we need to delete ALL faction topics, or topics Specifically related to the world of aceon. And start COMPLETELY new. perhaps though keep the world save in some folder and one day we can have an event when we are warped to a parallel universe and see all these massive abandoned buildings. Decaying beauty. And a world, ended, by war.  I know i wrote alot but if you read to this point thank you.

Wait! When did all these people start complaining about steampunk technology? They never complained early on. If they had we could have changed it. It's a fantasy server for gods sake. It's not going overboard, we aren't exactly hurting everyone. It's like as soon as one of the biggest fantasy factions get's big, EXACTLY LIKE DEAP. You all suddenly start complaining on the technology that faction uses. I was there when DEAP was created and I remember everyone being like, "oh magic will be great!" and then when they got big, "They're too overpowered..."? So is this how it is? As soon as a faction gets big you instantly think "Oh no, they're a threat" even if they're quite a neutral faction? I voted no to the server reset because the problems you are stating can easily be fixed. Steampunk technology, is mostly for looks half the time. Like the bionic parts and the steam ships. We don't have any machines that are overpowered? And for our guns the disadvantage of them is their reloading time and their accuracy. I don't see how muskets and flintlock pistols don't fit into the period 20XX which is what blackstar posted on another thread somewhere as the year of the server. If someone told me one reason why our technology is overpowered and I couldn't answer it then I might consider changing the faction abit. And Lupus, I believe many people want to continue their characters and factions over from this world to the next.

Exactly, If people had a problem with Novarium, They Should have Bloody done something when we were 5 Men and a boat Hiding on a island in Dirt Bunkers. Instead, everyone ignored us, and we Played our way from 1 ship, and soem dirt houses, to 2 cities, and the Most powerful faction on the server (valhalla being a very close second.) Novarium outlived every other major faction, Not because our technology was too great, but because We Played our cards right and made it to the top. If people had a problem with us, You should have shot the admiral Dead On first contact, when we didn't have a backup, you should have destroyed the cove, leaving us to Retreat back to novarium, You should have denied us food when we first arrived, starving us, you should have Sunk the Heart of novarium, leaving the Speartip, the admiral and colonel and their body guards stranded. But you Neglected us, and when we're too strong to beat back, people jump at an ooc excuse to Destroy us. -_-

Today I heard that bobby and someone else (forgot who) would leave if this happened. I hope not, because they put time and creativity into the server to make it fun and enjoyable. Since a rebuild seems to be the high-majority vote, just try to take the opportunity to change things for the better. Pistons are coming soon. Maps can be used in RP. I'm sure you could think of something.

After reading all this there r some stuff i rly dont understand tbh...

First of all: If people where so angry on the steampunk idea why not RP an assault and destroy the factory building so the technology would be unuseable / lost.

Seceondly: when the server wipe is comming up soon how r we supposed 2 join it.... Rumors says that there will be no whitelistning and random people could join and do as they wish if they just had the IP... If that is the case there will be more chaos then than we have now.

Thirdly: due to the server reset how are we going to build then? If it is still medieval then we need some limits to each individual... Even though i dont like that idea because i like to build cities/towns/castles... Are we only allowed to build 1 building and w8 until more ppl join the area and then you are allowed to expand your "territory" or how is going to be?

Even though it is a good idea im kinda sad because 7 days of hard work with kargate will disapear... I know i am not the one to talk about building for a long time cause im still new BUT it is still annoying to be unknowing on how the new server will be... i feel that people might split up and make their own little communities/factions all around the world and then we are not back to square one.
