OP Abuse + Potential Wipe Vote

I have heard from several players and staff about abuse that has taken place. I have not been on MC for sometime myself but this has to and will stop.

By all means we should have a real ranking system but the permissions system did not agree with our server when last attempted. I should not have to inform everyone about this, it should be obvious.

This is a roleplay server however by allowing infinite spawning of resources factions and players have been able to build huge places with no real struggle at all. This is what happened with DEAP and has continued with other factions which has unbalanced and made the economy unstable and the playerbase angry or annoyed because of it.

What is not acceptable:
Admins Spawning Blocks for themselves and others.
Using Safezone to abuse faction territory.
Using faction commands for personal gain (e.g. using it to open another factions doors)
OPing other people not on the OP roster - What the hell are you doing?
Steampunk devices\machines\armor\guns - It was starting to get alittle stupid.

This leaves us now with a vote, to wipe the world or keep the server how it is. Wiping it would allow everyone to start over without any abuse at the cost of loosing anything you have built so far, but issues would arise still due to the huge amount of buildings out there that have been influenced by op's spawning stuff for personal gain.

The wipe would allow the server to:

• Have a clean slate without all the old junk or influences that made it unbalanced.
• Allow a different style of world, different to how it is now. Terrain would have changed.
• Give back a real economy to the players to generate more roleplay.

This choice is yours.

I may consider muskets at the least, but they would be rare, very slow at firing and bad accuracy, but good fire power.

I think Steampunk things should stay to, now that Novarium is the only faction that uses the technology, since DEAP took it overboard and imploded itself. The same goes for the server, the map seems fine the way it is, in medieval times there were still big cities, compairable to Victory Bay, and if Safezones were finaly fixed up, we would be able to get rid of a lot of the horribly skewed terrain.

Everyone has put alot of work into making thier Bases and Such, and With THese WE abuses you mention, You could do what you did before, hand /op out to Trusted Players to help fix the Land, and Blackstar could finally Remove the safezones like he said he would. It seems like Such a waste of effort to wipe something that already Works Fine.

Agreed, we've stopped spawning things now so sooner or later the world will move out of its economic slump when the iron gets used up ect. And then it'll be back to normal

There is currently no working economy because of the people who spawned items. In the event of a server restart, I think there shouldn't be guns or anything such RPed if it can't be made with Minecraft blocks or items. Anything RPed or built should fit in the Medieval era or at least within the bounds of Minecraft materials unless we are switching eras.

Example: Cannons can be built. Tracks can be built. Locks can be built. Pistons soon and redstone stuff - it's awesome. Swords. Axes. Bows. Sure. But rifles? Nope. Powerful people who can warp and go through locked doors at will without reason (admins/OPs)? Nope! Magically making items appear from thin air? Nope. Areas of the world magically flatten or change? Nope. Zombie apocalypse? Optional.

That's my view.

I just got an idea! In the case that the server will be wiped (which it probably will), I vote that you save the world. Just in case.

Before going to the new world, we should have a couple days of fun on the old one. I don't know what that entails, but maybe build a spleef arena and have a tournament. I also have ideas for games that involve redstone. Or, I would like to build an arcade or amusement park or casino type thing in the new world somewhere. I will get a person or 2 to help me. And with people being attracted, a city will be built around it. Gamble with iron on who will win. That'd be enough fun for me to play like 5 times more often.

Our ships dont fly and we dont have machine guns. The boinic parts have no influence on things and steam technology doesnt give much, if any, advantage becuase supposedly thiers no water.

Its near impossible to have an economy in minecraft. People know they can make thier own things for free just as well as the "blacksmith", bake thier own foods as well as the "baker" can, and dig thier own tunnels, build thier own buildings, and have more fun doing so than getting someone else to do it for them.
