Idea for adding some fear

Just an idea I thought up.

You know the tab in the F1 menu that shows users online?
I was thinking, what if regular players couldn't see who was playing mutant. Only mutant players and admins could see our list, if active.

I figured this could cut back on meta game from those to scared to go out alone if a few suckers were on. Without the list to see, they may believe it to be safe to travel.

It also could make traveling alone more frightenig, since you OOCly wouldn't know if any mutants were on or how many there may be.

Just a quick idea I thought to share.

I am not to good with scripting but I am not sure this would work but it is a very good idea.

People would switch to their mutant to see the list.

Not everybody has a mutant character, y'know.
I'd like this, even though all I got is a Loner.

Would make seeing that stray Bloodsucker on the hill or the one right behind you that much more terrifying.

Still mango anything can change in a instant.

Then we can 'status' in console and wonder who are these people that aren't on the scoreboard
Ps: Mutants.
Blake.H: And im also working on whipping him into shape
Blake.H: He's nice
Blake.H: He doesn't moan
Blake.H: The sheer obedience is enough to fuel my erection anyway

PS: Character Screen

Besides, most people won't check console every 10 minutes for a mutant update.

People who do that already are metagaming and not playing the game properly anyway so this idea would probably be an overall improvement. Anyone who types "status" every 10 seconds to check for a mutant is probably already a shitty player who is already ruining RP so the net gain from something like this seems worth it.

posible problem with that is most of the admin commands are done through the scoreboard drop menues. Yould have to make sure admins can see them.

The admins are in some group which isnt present at the scoreboard, which means if Silver would make it, he could give you the chance to see the bloodsuckers.

and then there is OOC.

What about OOC? They still won't have a full list of mutants, and won't know when a player switches.

OOC shows the char name when used so if a mutant used OOC people would figure that out. Although I guess that is on them to not use OOC if trying to be stealthy.

You could change the OOC colour to a loner one.

Yea, but who would believe in a Loner Named 'Razor' or 'Slicer'?

Why not..there is loners with several nicknames..So its believable.

Not unless you recognize those names as suckers.

My char's name is just
'Troll'

That doesn't make a sucker now does it.
Blake.H: And im also working on whipping him into shape

This all seems to me too much bother for too little gain, not being able to know if there are suckers on won't make people start roleplaying Fear. It will just make people go outside less, which really is only OOC fear and they will be more pissed off when they get ganked by a fluffy sucker.

Seth Gecko - Freedomer

Well then just ban/kick people for not being able of fear-rping

That won't solve the problem, only piss off alot of people because that is the way they RP. I don't really see it as a problem myself, because there isn't really a solution to it so there is no point getting your feathers ruffled over it.

Seth Gecko - Freedomer

I know there isnt a solution that doesnt piss off people, its just very annoying to see stalkers trying to attack suckers with barehands or super-ninjas that fear nothing and can dodge bullets.

Well if the sucker can't kill a stalker who's fighting it with his bare hands... then the problem is with the suckers.

Seth Gecko - Freedomer

I think he meant in a /me fight.

I have yet to win a /me fight, either cause a group of stalkers show up, regardless of our location(Tunnels, Corner of Map, Sewers). Or because the Stalker doesn't give in to be clawed to death.

Ahaha. Ahahahaha. Ok, ok. I think I understand some of this, but please, show me a rule that says suckers can't claw rape someone EVER. Rules do apply to Suckers that you can't just STK them without consent, but when someone tries shooting me right off the bat, I'll follow their asses then ambush them when they least expect it, killing him with or without RP. That gets the message across. If you try STking a bloodsucker without warning, they can, and SHOULD, slaughter you.
