Basically, in a nutshell. I found a gun, Duran wanted it for a stash, yadayadayda. Transferred it onto my trader so i could make a job, to give it out later. Duran wanted the gun, threatened to ban / kick me If I didn't give it to him. THEN, I decided to drop it and delete the gun. Right in his face.

For you wondering (and didn't click the link in my statement) here it is:

He replied that lines of longitude don't cross the ocean.

What?

I told him that the lines of longitude were there purposely to indicate how far west (or east) some location was, regardless of whether it was on land or on sea.

There was one insurmountable problem, however. He was bigger than me. And I never got my two dollars.

I drew a number of conclusions from this story.

There is such a thing as truth, but we often have a vested interest in ignoring it or outright denying it.

Also, it's not just thinking something that makes it true. Truth is not relative, it's not subjective. It may be elusive or hidden. People may wish to disregard it. But there is such a thing as truth. And the pursuit of truth: Trying to figure out what has really happened; trying to figure out how things really are.

Almost fifteen years ago, I stumbled on a story about an innocent man, a man who had been sentenced to die in the Huntsville, Texas electric chair. And through hard work, luck and a certain amount of pathological obsession, I was able to make the movie "The Thin Blue Line" and to help get him out of prison.

What kept me going was the belief that there had to be answers to the questions: Did he do it? Was he guilty or innocent? If he didn't do it, who did? And that I could find an answers to these questions through investigating -- through studying files, reading transcripts, interviewing people.

It's not that we find truth with a big "T". We investigate, and sometimes we find things out and sometimes we don't. There's no way to know in advance. It's just that we have to proceed as though there are answers to questions. We must proceed as though in principle we can find things out -- even if we can't. The alternative is unacceptable.

I will never know whether the neighborhood kid really didn't understand the logic of my argument about Reno, Nevada. Or whether he understood it completely and just didn't want to admit it. Or whether he understood it and just didn't want to pay up. I'll never know.

It's not the gun he got upset over. It was Steven's intentions on what to do with the gun. Two completely different things.

I already talked to Exile about this, Happy with the results. Though you know guys, I never -did- anything with the weapon. Going to doesnt mean you get to castrate and maul the person. I deleted the gun in the end, and now what am I going to do with it. NOTHING. So why would I still have to have a penalty?

Steven found an AK74 on his sucker character. Duran told him to hand the AK74 over so he could make a stash since bloodsuckers don't need guns. Steven told Duran "Nope, finder's keeper's" and then proceeded to transfer the gun to his trader char with the intent of selling it. Duran told him that was against the rules and Steven promptly toolgun deleted it and left the server. So Steven was caught in the act of transfering items between characters with the intent to sell the item for cash. Which is clearly against the rules.

If you read the logs Steven posted of my convo with him you'd see this.

And Steven your ability to bitch to Exile who has no idea what happened and doesn't like dealing with whiney kids shouldn't make you feel good about yourself.

This matter is simple, both are in the wrong.  Steven, you arnt ment to pick weapons up as a bloodsucker, even use it for a mission/stash or to sell it.  Now the funny bit about this is, steven dropped it and deleted it as he should had in the first place.

Now, Duran should not really be threatening a player for banning over a weapon he did not find, this is abuse.  The gun was ment to be removed in the first place and Duran shouldnt had got pissy over a AK aswell as wanting the gun for his own ends.
Also Steven, what the hell is with the huge story that has nothing to do with the situation.

What Steven said happened and what actually happened according to the screenshot that Duran posted in the admin room and that I have posted in my post a few posts up (...I used the word "post" way too much in that sentence) is the issue, not what Steven is claiming.

Tl:dr No one got mad over not finding a gun. The issue is Steven breaking the rules by transferring the gun to another character of his to sell for profit.

Because you didn't read the logs in the screenshot I posted. I feel like a broken record. Those logs show Steven intended to transfer the AK from his sucker to his trader and then sell it. This isn't about "lol Steven found an AK and Duran is jealous" it is about "Steven found an AK and was going to transfer it to another character of his to sell" which is clearly against the rules. I've said this about 59 times in this thread alone. It would be nice if people actually read more than the first post of stuff before replying.

And it would be equally nice if someone locked this topic.
