How to RP as Monolith

This topic fills out the basics of roleplaying as a monolith character. First of all, lets start with some basic requirements:

Monolith characters are monotone, I believe this is taken from the catholic church and the principle of the monotone voice is the same. However in catholic church priest sings in monotone voice, but in monolith you speak in monotone. The voice is a way to express feelings and you don't want to express the speciality of your voice, as other brothers may think that you "like" the wish granter differently. It may be a side effect of the brainwashing aswell.

You do not express your feelings under the watchful eye of the monolith. Oh yes, monolithians do have feelings, but they are strictly not to express them. If they wouldn't have feelings, they wouldn't even care to protect the wish granter or fight back the stalkers. However, if you must express your feelings, do it in the base and only in small portions. Take note that the higher ranks may think of this crossly.

You are not to take orders from a "outsider", you only take orders of monolith members that are higher in command. If you are outmanned and you have no chance to fight back, then simply resist, they will notice that they have to do it on their own. Always try to look for a way out or try to take as many of them with you if you die. Executing any order from a member that is not in monolith faction is highly punishable since it is thought as treachery.

Ranks and authority are an important part of the monolith faction. Always execute the order of a higher class, however, only the higher command of the Preacher are allowed to send you outside. Lower than preacher means that they can make you execute orders that take place inside the base. If you have a smaller authority than the person commanding you, of course.

Speaking is categoried by the ranks. Ranks under Liturgist have a rule of not to speak if not asked, but they may ask if they can speak. Remember that when when on a patrol or another occurement that takes place outside the base, only the ranks going up from preacher are to talk to "non-monolithians". Acolyte can speak if the preacher cannot, and same goes with Liturgist, others stay silent and do as their superiors say. Take note that if you have the rule of not to speak and when on patrol, you can report any sightings of stalkers or such to the squad leader.

If the "spokesman" of the patrol group gets injured or dies, you are to do as he/she says, and if the "spokesman" is dead, you are to either finish what he was doing and to fall back to base if you have the chance and if the task is very easy to do, or you simply fall back to base. You must try to bring the "spokesman" with you to the base. Dead or alive. Spokesman refers to a member that can speak in a patrol or in an another thing that takes place outside the base.

At the first moments of you being in the faction, you may get guns and armanent that may be inefficient or that you can't cope with. But you must deal with it, suppliers and high commands suit you as best fitted, and you don't have much to do about it until you ascend to higher ranks. Remember, efficiency means rewarding for your actions, that is a good way to get better armanent and supplies.
