said he wants "to have infinite worlds so you're not just stuck to one world. You can travel anywhere. I want more biome diversity in that, too." ummmm that just sounds like starbound?

So? It's a good thing.

Why dont they just update CURRENT terraria to include these things?

Sounds like a money bagging idea more then anything because honestly the shit he wants he could easily just put into Terraria, much easier then writing and programming entire new game

Gee! It's so bad for people to try to make a living through making games, right? I mean, a sequel to a game? The creators should go die in a hole for being capitalist pigs.
sarcasm just in case you're taking it seriously

although he worded it poorly hes got a point

technically that could be said about any game that has a sequel. half life 1 could've been simply updated to hl2 since source/goldsrc are both based on quake engine(you can even load a call of duty map in hl2 if you wanted and vice versa).
Blake.H: And im also working on whipping him into shape
Blake.H: He's nice
Blake.H: He doesn't moan
Blake.H: The sheer obedience is enough to fuel my erection anyway

Yeah, but how the creator worded the sequel sounds really dumb. If he had said things like "New graphics and blah blah blah" I wouldn't be opposed, but making a Terraria 2 because you want infinite worlds seems silly when you could just put it into Terraria. As long as he gets made in an entertaining and new way go ahead, just at the moment sounds silly

No actually, infinite worlds isn't something he could do with Terraria at the moment. He's stated before that he's actually learning C++ so that he can make better games. C# which he's currently using for Terraria is really CPU demanding but easy to use and that's why he used it for Terraria. If he where to just implement infinite world generation into Terraria it'd crash your computer every time you tried to load it.

That explains why my comp dislikes me running Terraria so much :l, I had no idea it wasn't in C++

Yeah, if Terraria was in C++ people would be able to run it on very minimal computers.

Show your support I guess.

Terraria 2 just seems so simplistic, though. I hope that's just a placeholder.

I'm just waiting to mess up your day. Honest.

It sounds intriguing enough, but I doubt it'll be much to be put in the same category as Starbound. The world'll be infinite, but Starbound's still got an infinite universe, not just single infinite worlds. Plus crapton of user-friendly moddability and user-created quest type things and such. As cool as Terraria 2 would be, right now Starbound still has my Dollar Canadian. Maybe it'll change in the future. There's still much more to be revealed possibly about it.
