THE BATTLE OF AMARGOSA

April 28, 2236

On this day, the Amargosa Outpost was attacked without question by the Enclave. A special squadron of Enclave soldier's performed this operation, Fireteam Zulu. It was reported that the Enclave were evacucating their own base, and at the same time, the operation against the NCR was taken place. Prior to the attack, the NCR sent word back to their headquaters for a convoy full of firearms, ammunition, armored suits, and other gadgets to be sent to the outpost. The convoy never made it. Major Starkovski, the commanding officer leading the NCR in this battle, embarked onto a recon patrol with a few other men in search for the convoy. A few miles from Amargosa, the convoy was found obliterated by an unknown scource. Starkovski and his men investigated the site, finding that the convoy's troopers suffered from laser weaponry burns. Alongside of the wounds, an Enclave flag hung near the area on a wooden fence. This is when the NCR realised the Enclave was involved. Starkovski and his team rushed back to base to prep for a possible attack. Upon arrival, Starkovski and the garrison of the Amargosa Outpost, fortified the surrounding area with basic forifications. It didn't take long until reports of vertibirds, seen flying away from the suspected Enclave base, flew in. Moments later, a vertibird bombing run lighted up the Amargosa Outpost. The bombing run took out nearly half of the outposts' garrison. Taken from suprise, the NCR scattered throughout the base, still holding firm. Another wave of vertibrids flew in, but this time it wasn't a bombing run. The Enclave soldier's within the vertibirds attempted to negotiate with the NCR, but Major Starkovski isn't forgivable. He ordered his anti-air infantry unit to strike down the two vertibirds, they fell.
The troopers cheered, and thought they had won, but that clearly wasn't the case. Fireteam Zulu, the Enclaves fireteam performing the operation, counter-attacked the outpost. In a quick and sudden blow, Fireteam Zulu struck down any opposing forces that the NCR threw at them. Reports of only two of it's members were killed. Reports of nearly twenty NCR troopers were killed. After the battle, very few NCR troopers lived, and the ones that did now mostly suffer from post traumatic stress disorder from there onto today. Major Starkovski, one survivor of the battle, immediately reported back to headquaters informing the outpost was attacked. General Lee Oliver ordered a reniforcment of the outpost along with supplies and new fortifications soon after. This battle is now known as, "The Battle of Amargosa".
