Hey folks! I have been very busy working on Crussaria, and even though i personally feel like it's not really ready for a open alpha. Im going to do it anyway, it's high time those of you who have not played on the server get a look at the project and get the server properly kickstarted.

I wouldn't expect too much of it yet, it's still a alpha, but the main features are generally all there. Ill list a few bellow. If you have any questions ask away here or make a new thread in the crussaria forum.

To Note:
Fantasy elements like magic are not yet used in Crussaria, you will have to wait until they are.
Crussaria is still in alpha, it's not finished yet and there are flaws which stop it reaching it's full potential.

Noteable Features:

New custom weapon base for melee weapons - I spent some time on this and so far it's worked out fine.
Harvestable Plants - Like oblivion you can live off the land, this will later be used in the Alchemy Profession.
Profession System - Masters recruit and create apprentices in professions. Professions are what develop and produce trade goods which traders sell.
Custom Npcs - Dragon, mudcrabs, swarmers, spiders and Goblins. There's alot in the world, the maps not noded yet however.
Custom map, developed from scratch, features a wide amount of wilderness, a village, a dungeon and various other locations. The map is still alpha too.
Mining - Mine ore and forge bars which can be sold to traders and smiths so they can craft armor, weapons and swords.
Smithing - Craft weapons, tools, armor and such.
Woodcutting - Chop trees and gather wood which can be used in development of items.
Crussaria features and uses a svn so you can easily get updates on the fly which also allows me to easily add content to it.
And lots more, i have been busy. More to come too, if you have any suggestions feel free to post in the suggestions thread.

A few quick questions:

Q: Smithing? Woodcutting? Is this runescape?
A: No, this exists to have a real active economy, where professionals can produce their own items instead of asspulling them from a trader menu. This creates opportunities for more roleplay, internal trade amongst people and a real point to play a normal citizen instead of being an adventurer. Professions does follow a experience system, but on the basis of actions. One action typically equals one point.

The more you work at it the quicker you become skilled. If one point is per action, and it requires 200 to mine silver, it won't take long. It's the scripts own way of keeping things in check, you don't become a talented smith straight away and it gives you something to look forward to while roleplaying that character.

Q: How do i join a profession then?
A: In the world, talk to a master about being an apprentice in that field, if all works out well and he's got space for another apprentice, you can be taken on and slowly work your way  up the ladder. Only applying to be a master requires an application.

Q: Why do masters require an application?
A: The main reason is to control who's leading a certain field and how many people are in that field. Professions should be equally balanced on the server and not everyones a master in a field. We would not want an entire server of blacksmiths, nor would we want someone who is a jack of all trade- If so to speak.

Q: So... The horse? When are we going to see it? Ride it? Pet it? Kill it?

A: Soon enough, i have to recode it and then develop some form of system around it, horses will cost a fair bit of money and it would not be fair to loose it every time it's in the world. Of course there will need to be a spawn system for it when you need your horse. Perhaps at a stable somewhere.

Q: Magic? Magic? MAGIC?

A: Give me time, it will be implemented eventually, it's important to get down the foundations of medieval crussaria before overcomplicating it.

Q: Where can i get the svn for crussaria?
A: You can get it here: There's a tutorial if you do not know how to work the svn and a zip file. However only do the zip file in emergencies, otherwise you will have to download the same content over and over again when there are updates. http://www.forums.hypergamer.net/crussaria-medieval-roleplay-world/crussaria-content-pack/

Q: What about the lore where can i read up on that?
A: The lore is not finished, it's still on-going but you can read up on whats there currently in the Crussaria Lore, History & Status forum located here: http://www.forums.hypergamer.net/crussaria-lore-history/

At least now the server will get flooded with all of HGN and attract a new playerbase.

How is the melee system gonna work? Like hl2 with its crowbar replaced with a sword or something? Also open alpha=KICKass

Its not just Crowbar model changed if thats what your asking.

Ok im just wondering how it works.

Ok im just wondering how it works.

Currently it works just like a normal sword, the only thing i have not managed to do for it is apply the AOC animations and add a parry\shield feature.

How does the armor work? Different damage types? Like arrows do piercing, swords do slash and maces/hammers do crush? And does heavy armor slow you down?

It is like the exo-system so I do believe you would run a bit slower. I think all damage is the same though just different levels.

How come the server is quite dead? :(
Get out dolan

Well, Alpha, The map being alpha, script not being done, donator/flags not done. No one likes passive :)
