Here's a RP idea. Most soldiers join the military so they can send money to their familiy(wife/girlfriend/mom/dad..etc.)
So you could ask for letters from time to time, write letters etc.

He souldn't ask us to write to out family. But it would be cool to have a helicopter that lands every now in then. Dropping supplies and taking any letters

About the issue with psychotic military, THIS would help. Nothing better than expressing feelings to your parents not to become schizophrenic/sadistic !!  Well, it depends if your mother can be actually talked with, or you'd have a need to strangle her with something.
Also, I say again, CLOSE the APPLICATIONS. You've got about 12 active people. Yes, 12 people active. Military is getting overcrowded.

On a more serious note, most "hobos" disappear and go inactive forever, so that doesn't really change much other than the fact that I waste money on equipping them.

It means you don't need to equip these inactive people who got in with an arsed application.
It's win-win.

You guys should strive to be more professional instead of. . . IDK sending SUICIDE BOMBERS to kill your enemies. Tbh I think you guys should be somewhat corrupt and somewhat dickish. Ability to run tight patrols, near the compound would be nice. I've spent a while passively role-playing in the same spot and it's not the most fun thing. Not that I don't like passive role-play, it's just that after a while.. yeah..

I don't exactly have people who are so much capable of being officers, or trusted with officer position. Last 2 officers I had that were capable went inactive.

And I'll update the rules when I see them fit to be updated. Seeing as I made the rules back when I was co-leader.
