The fall of the Jalis
In the Jalis' homeland lies a mountain range known as the goblin pass. A worn out dirt track winds up into the biggest of the mountains and disappears into the darkness of the interoir.

Here in this mountain, the Jalis' doom would come. The goblin clans united under one flag to rid themselves of the Jalis once and for all, 100,000 goblin fighters marched down the goblin pass towards the close by Jalis capital city of Lelnar.

The Jalis look outs spotted the army in the night as the goblins torches lit up the entire mountain like a swarm of fireflies. All Jalis warriors from all over the homeland and beyond were summoned to Lelnar to protect it, the Jalis were outnumbered, they only had 40,000 warriors against their 100,000 but goblins arn't good at tactics and would most likely just charge at them in a giant mass.

Two days from the first spotting of the army, the entire Jalis army was lined up ready to defend their land, the men brought up the frontline in a giant shield wall, their swords and spears ready. The women brought up the rear their bows drawn waiting for that command to let out a volley.

A goblin wave of 300 began to charge the Jalis while the main army waited. Thousands of arrows started to rain down upon the approaching goblins cutting them to pieces before they could get close to the shield wall. The next wave began to charge, the next volley was let out, the armour piecing arrows of the Jalis penetrated the goblins armour with ease ending their pathetic lives. The goblins kept charging in waves which increased in size until they were at the shield wall fighting fiecely against the Jalis.

The Jalis warriors skill and determination allowed them to quickly slaughter attacking waves, but not without casualties, the dead littered the ground and even though the Jalis were out numbered they stood their ground.

As night fell fire and torches lit up the area and something big moved among the goblin army. What looked like balls of fire started to appear among the goblins and soon enough they began to fly into the air raining down upon the Jalis. Jalis warriors flew in all directions from the explostions and many were set on fire, holes in the shield wall began to appear as the fire balls struck the wall and the goblins charged, but not just 600 or 1,000 but all of them.

The mass closed in and Jalis archers fired at will and the Jalis soldiers broke the wall and fought individually. The Jalis cut down hundreds of goblins but were soon overrun as they couldtn't fight so many at once. Thousands of Jalis were dead and some Jalis broke off from the fight to protect the king. As the Jalis frontline fell the goblins moved into Lelnar burning it to the ground, 6,000 remaining Jalis warriors held the kings keep and held the goblins off for days using the walls as protection.

The king soon realised that all was lost and in an effort to at least save some of his people he sent 1,000 warriors and the remaining 5,000 civilians to escape through the back door. The doors of the keep fell and the remaining Jalis fought to the last man, 20 of the kings finest warriors and guard were with him in the grand hall and they fought with honour and bravery until the end.

Lelnar had fallen and soon enough so did the other smaller cities, villages and towns. The Jalis homeland was gone burnt to the ground and destroyed by the goblins.

The remaining 6,000 Jalis moved on far away from their original home and they began to try and rebuild not far from Caphori. A famous Jalis writter wrote about the deeds of the Jalis army that day, about their courage and bravery, and how they gave their lives so that some would live to carry on the Jalis people.

(The battle from Nathan Jones point of view)
Nathan stood still his shield locked into the shield wall and his great sword pointing forward. He watched as the first wave began to charge, sweat dripped from his forehead as he gripped his great sword tighter his knuckles going white.
As the first goblin struck his shield he thrust his great sword forward into it's chest and then drew it back almost mechanicaly. He continued to slaughter the goblins as they came their blood now flowing off his great sword like a waterfall.
As night fell goblins lay dead in front of the shield wall and Nathan looked out into the goblin lines now lit up by thousands of torches. Nathan felt safer than he should of done due to his 4 brothers and 3 sisters being near enough next to him, he hoped they would all last the fight.
Nathan turned around for a second and looked at the beautiful city of Lelnar, he had not seen it for a long time and gazed upon it's various towers and designs, he turned immediately as a Jalis warrior called out to look to the sky. He witnessed the fire balls rain down upon the Jalis lines burning people everywhere, one struck 10 metres away throwing him to the ground, he quickly got to his feet and went to grab his sword but frozed just before grabbing it. His four brothers lay there in front of his sword dead, patches of their skin burnt to charcoal. He only came to his senses when his sister Lyna dragged him to his feet. Nathan grabbed his sword and cut a approaching goblins head off "We need to get the others sis" Nathan said carmly the battle nearly drowning out his words. "No one is left, our brothers dead, our sisters dead! The whole line is being broken!" Lyna blared.
As the lines fell groups of Jalis warriors were surrounded and fought goblins from all sides, the goblins entered the city burning it and killing anything that moved. Survivors ran for the keep to where the king was, Nathan and Lyna ran up the stairs trying to protect as many civillians along the way as possible and made it to the kings hall.
The king stood staring at the floor as his kingdom began to fall around him, the surviving warriors wounded, tired and covered in blood and dirt looked to him for guidance. Nathan watched as the king walked to his armour case and put on his gleaming gold armour, he drew his sword and approached Nathan and Lyna. "Not much more can be done now. I will not see the Jalis people exterminated, take the civillians and a thousand warriors out the back door. I...I will hold them off for as long as I can with the remaining warriors. Tell people about the courage and bravery today as Jalis warriors gave it all they had to fight an opposing force" the king spoke with sadness. Nathan simply nodded and began to lead the people out, he waited as everyone went through the door and he looked upon the king for the last time. The hall doors collasped and the king threw on his helmet and raised his sword as the goblins poured in killing the remaining warriors. Nathan shut the door and ran to catch up with the others.
Days later he was home and his sister and the rest of the survivors were making a new start near Caphori.

Two Steps from Hell - After the Fall
A few weeks later
Nathan left his home in the middle of the night to go see the surviving Jalis in a camp not to far away from Caphori. As he left he was swallowed up by the blackness of the night, everything looked different to him even though he had lived in Caphori for a long time now.
He left the city walls and began the trek east, it was long and hard but he managed to get within a few miles of the camp just as the sun began to rise.
As he went around the side of the hill he caught sight of the wooden gate protecting the camp, he smiled slightly and approached. The sunlight broke through gaps in the gate making it impossible to see what was on the other side.
He pushed the gate open and his heart sank as he bore witness to the scene. The last of the Jalis had fallen, the camp was destroyed, burnt to the ground and Jalis lay dead everywhere among Goblins, the ground was soaked with the blood of both Jalis and Goblin. Spears and arrows protruded from the dead and a circle of 15 or so Jalis warriors lay dead in the center at what was their last stand.
Nathan fell to his knees and cried as the last of their kind had died and the Jalis people had no hope of rebuilding. He and his sister were the last of their kind.

Nathan after being in the new land for a while and seeing the dangers of the unkown far east thought it would be a good idea to build a defendable location. First starting as a his house with a wall on either side Nathan soon thought it would be a good idea to expand, building three houses inside his walls. After a while of gathering extra materials Nathan re built the walls out of bricks for extra stength and expanded upon his house turning it into a sort of keep.

Fort Legacy as Nathan called it has saved his life from the so called "Blood moons" keeping the zombie hordes at bay. Though there is accomadation for roughly six people only one of the houses has been claimed.

(OOC: If you want one of the rooms in the keep or one of the houses ask me and yes they're small sorry about that but not everything has to be a mansion)
