Galfgarion is cursed. Whenever he touches water he transform into a merfolk. Because of this he was shunned and taken advantage of for most of his life. Once he grew tired of the trickery of man, he decided to live as a hermit, he does enjoy company, and is willing to help, but refuses to rejoin major society (It has also been said he transforms into a werewolf on full moons, this has yet to be validated).
