Title: gm_dusty_trails
Post by: Spades_Neil on 15-04-2011
Love it or hate it?

Keep the posts short and sweet. Personally I highly preferred RP_Apocalypse above all the other maps I've seen so far. Dusty Trails is my least favorite next to Atomic which is only slightly more exciting.

PROS:
- ... Well I guess the towns are very blatantly organized.
- Brighter than Atomic or Apocalypse (good point someone made in-game)

CONS:
- Flat. Aside from rocks.
- You can spot an item a mile away as a little black dot on the terrain. Scavenging is stupid easy.
- Small.
- Way too few buildings.
- Everything is centralized around one small strip of land while the rest is as pointless as Atomic.
- Sorrowly lacks the 'end of the world' feeling we had with maps like Atomic and Apocalypse.

Post your opinions as long as you're not flaming.
You are free to disagree with my opinions!

P.S. Don't complain about the lack of permanent boxes. That's not the map. That's a glitch with the server programming that Exile is probably already fixing.

I agree that it lacks the Post apocalypse feel.

I agree with the fact it is small, and boring. And the towns are too godamn close.

I played around with it in Single player because I don't feel like running around the map with my stamina bar limiting me when I can just noclip in SP.

Anyways, this lacks a post-apoc feel. Way to small, and way to flat. Don't use this for the love of all that is holy.

Changed back to apoc. Too crashy and unstable.

Sweet. While I do agree that we need to find more apocalyptic maps, this one unfortunately just didn't suit the mood.

I should learn how to map edit. I can get pretty damn creative.

Apoc doesn't give the fallout mood either.

Fallout, maybe not, but I never said anything about a 'Fallout' mood. Apocalypse? Yes. We can fill in the Fallout feel ourselves by roleplaying. The end of the world feeling is what matters. :D
