FORP treasure (IC!!!)

(OOC) You find out about a rumor of a treasure that is going on, it comes from an old legend.
The legend is about a trader, it is as follows:

There once was a trader with riches sky high,
he earned it all, by using his skills to rob, steal and lie.
But on one faithful day, the man saw his end,
and end he could not suspend.


The trader then hid his treasure,
for safekeeping and good measure.
He hid it where his innocence first died,
it was where his pride lied.


As the man met death, his final words were spoken,
"My treasure is nothing but a token,
the true value of life it left unspoken,
as I finally find peace for a man that was broken."


"You may find my riches, if you dare,
but be forewarned, you will only find despair.
The treasure will not give you the peace you're looking for,
it will eventually rot you to the core,
feeding your need to want more and more,
you're only trying to fill a dark hole, but what for?
It will only incite more dispute and war!"


"Will this treasure bring you joy and glory
and come to a good ending like any romantic story?"
But maybe it will seal your fate,as it did mine,
and towards madness your mind will incline,
as you fall into darkness where sunlight will never shine..."

The location of the stash is the gnome inside the swamp.


So basically, I just used the first digits of the indevidual numbers in the key, then counted down the lines there is in the poem (1-24). Then I used the last digit of that same number in the key to see witch word to pick from the line. So, using that concept you can decode the riddle. Lets say we had the #42 in the key, that word would be end.
