Title: Fallout sound suddenly gone
Post by: Spades_Neil on 25-04-2011
Has this happened to anyone else? For some reason none of my Fallout sounds work anymore in-game. When I fire a weapon, it doesn't make any noises. I know a broken addon isn't the culprit because I haven't installed anything new.

I don't know if a patch to the server borked something. A typo somewhere perhaps? Either way anyone know how to fix it?

UPDATE:
I reinstalled Gmod and downloaded the allegedly updated Fallout pack. This didn't fix anything. I'm almost certain it's a coding error now.

I think its related to another recent update.

I hear reapplying the content packs help.

Tried doing that, though I'm not sure if it did any good or if the content pack I have downloaded is even up to date. I even went into my game's files to check that the sounds were even still there.

Worst case scenario, if it's not a bad code and just my Gmod being retarded, I can reinstall Gmod.

Just delete the second gmod folder, and start up gmod. After it has started up, go play SP for a bit, and just spawn everything. Then, go to your gmod folder, and everything should be there.

Here is a second option, validate/defrag CSS.

Don't own CSS. :P Just a model pack. Though turns out my laptop Gmod is even more fucked up than my PC one. In addition to sounds not working, a ton of models are missing.

I'm just nuking it and reinstalling.

EDIT: This didn't help. Still no sound. A full reinstall plus downloading the new packs and still no sound.

Garry = Faggot\Cunt.

But we have to love him; There'd be no GMOD otherwise and we'd all be playing TF2 or something.

My sound is missing too... even the gunfire. I tried reinstalling the packs, didn't work... guess Garry fucked it up, once again.
