-Eastern Central Republic-
Information Thread

When nuclear fire scorched the earth, covering it in a sickly cloak of radiation, civilization had fallen, but man continued to persevere, and survive despite the dire circumstances. Slowly, over the years, humanity rebuilt itself, creating small bastions of hope within the infinitely barren wasteland that had become the earth. Towns were created, children were born, and although not as prosperous as before the war, life continued.

The bluegrass wasteland, the state once called, 'Kentucky', took less direct hits then the surrounding, and as such became a hub for refugees, hoping to find undestroyed plots of land, and clean living space, but the years of radioactive fallout that the state endured in the past century and a half left the state as desolate as the surrounding world.

It is in this empty land that Jack Shanely, a native wastelander created a small close knit group dedicated to surviving the horrors of the waste, and sharing a common shelter, but as time passed it began to grow greater as more and more refugees came seeking shelter. As time passed the town began to grow as well as additions were made to it, instead of a small two house camp on the planes, it became a full blown town with numerous makeshift houses, and multiple shops. Jack decided it was time the community had a proper name, and decided to name it the Eastern Central Republic, after the government that the town used. Along with the community name, the town itself was named, 'Shady Oak', after the single surviving great oak that grew inside the cities walls. All while this was happening Jack married, and had a son naming him Morgan Shanely. Over time Jack grew older, and frailer, but continued to lead the town, and raise his son. Eventually though, like all good things, this came to pass, and Jack died leaving the leaders position open. A power vacuum was created for the open throne, with half of the population saying Morgan was the rightful leader, as he carried on his fathers traits, but others sought change. Eventually this lead to a schism, and those who left formed their own community the, 'Red Militia' moving far deeper into the bluegrass wasteland, and those who remained chose to stay the, 'Eastern Central Republic', voting Morgan Shanely as their leader.
