Title: [IMPORTANT] resignation note
Post by: D33tly on 22-07-2012
I am resigning from being enclave commander-in-chief. I have not, and will note choose a surpasser. I will leave this decition to spades aswell as enclave members. If you need to know why im resigning, im not fit for the responsibilities that come with being the commander. Enclave members vote for who will become the next leader, spades please make sure that enclave doesnt run into the ground.

the derailing is strong with this one, I can sense it.

I shall race for this new leadership. Reason being that New Haven is quiet at the moment and if it picks up I will always have a captain on my side to take over. Anywho another reason I want to race is because I have seen Enclave grow even from the old canon when they would go to White Chapel and kill all the inhabitants lol back to topic. Im not saying I should be leader because I have been here the longest but I would like to because I have so many ideas to pick up the pace. Starting with making the Enclave more interactive to wastelanders. Something like the vault town we were going to do. So that all said. Count me in the race to leadership.

I can tell you from past experience that there's no point in leading Enclave unless you have adminship.

You haven't been here the longest (in the enclave), I have (just a matter of fact) and I don't give a fuck whoever becomes leader as long as you DO IT RIGHT.

No I haven't been in the longest, but I have seen the Enclave for pretty long on how they work. Basically I agree, I don't care who becomes leader as long as its done right. I'm just opening up for the position if I am needed.

If you been around long enough, you find out that Enclave doesn't work.

You need to find players that actually enjoy staying in a base for the majority of a session of playing. People that also know a bit about Enclave and Military. Some knowledge and know how when it comes to Roleplaying it.

All  very true, but anyways anyone else is putting there hat to lead the Enclave?
Title: Re: [IMPORTANT] resignation note
Post by: D33tly on 24-07-2012
This isnt a "Put your name oin the hat" thing, its "an everyone in the enclave votes, even if the person didnt say they wanted to." thing.
Title: Re: [IMPORTANT] resignation note
Post by: pilot on 24-07-2012
Aye I see. So, how are we doing this vote?
Title: Re: [IMPORTANT] resignation note
Post by: Khorn on 24-07-2012
So, it's a force someone into command by vote?

Sounds stupid Deetly, why can't you just keep chugging along as leader?

Alright, sorry, let me re-phrase (and add some more info) to what I said before. time for a chart.

-People in enclave vote for anyone.
-Votes are tallied
-Person is asked if they want to be leader.
-New leader is put in place
or, if the person voted declines
-re-vote, with that peron not being able to be voted for
-lather, rinse, repeat

Would have enjoyed leading enclave. Heh.

Question really is for this, who can keep Enclave alive and make it fun for players?
Title: Re: [IMPORTANT] resignation note

I vote mastar891 for leader.
Title: Re: [IMPORTANT] resignation note

Pilot I need to be honest and say I personally as an admin don't want you to be the leader from the way I've seen you act I just don't like the thought, same with mastar, if anyone NEEDS to I can take over for the time being but I'm doubtful on the idea of me being an active roleplayer.

I wouldn't mind Pilot being the leader of Enclave since he is dedicated to Enclave and Enclave only. Just my two cents.

Hey guys why aren't leaders just Spades for all factions, and then he can organize multi-faction things himself, where the IC leaders are hidden or whatever and aren't played too often.

Give Spades a shit ton of work to do, he has too much time to play ARMA 2
Title: Re: [IMPORTANT] resignation note
Post by: Khorn on 26-07-2012
He plays ARMA so his computer fries so he can avoid FRP.

And maybe Enclave should become a NPC Faction, honestly there is little for them to do, and what they can do is limited by Gmod.

Wait in a base or risk your life in a 2 minute flight in the vertibird.

Also, Pilot=mastar891 ? (Didn't know 3 ? is a stupid smiley face)

Or was I mistaken again?

Or you could just do what I used to do

Patrol a lot and taunt enemy factions.
Title: Re: [IMPORTANT] resignation note
Post by: Ket on 27-07-2012
I remember the days on cs_desert when the first thing new players would do is, go to the Enclave Base.

Rebel was best leader in my opinion, for now I don't give my vote to anyone.
Title: Re: [IMPORTANT] resignation note
Post by: pilot on 27-07-2012
I am mastar891 har har, but I see what you mean. But I have been dedicated to Enclave for a long time and I really don't want to see it as a NPC faction. I've been in it too long to be a dead faction. Enclave is actually one of the biggest roles in Fallout 2. Were the whole cause of the plot line! And instead of going on guard duty all day I will assign events, patrols and even small scare tactics just to get some roleplaying out. And if were stuck in the base I'll be sure to do something militaristic like weapon practice, securing deliveries, in base attacks, upgrading defenses, all that. If you think I'm really a bad leader then I understand, but Enclave is near death and I'm going to watch my favorite faction fall, so I would at least give me a chance to see what I can come up with.

You could also do things like Recon, Logistics Operations, and Science excavations.
Title: Re: [IMPORTANT] resignation note
Post by: Khorn on 27-07-2012
Thats the been said and done before pilot. Everyone tries to do these things, but the leader isn't the issue.

The lack of faithful players who are willing to play military roles kills the faction. And the fact that STK fights spell death, regardless of how good you are at FPS games.

And I still hate STRP and STM fights since they're bullshit due to limits of the game and players.

Well if leader isn't the whole issue, its a pretty big part to making this all work. I understand where your coming from though.
Title: Re: [IMPORTANT] resignation note
Post by: Kelse on 27-07-2012
I'd just rather Pilot not take the position after seeing how New Haven recruited everyone that joined and I don't want that to happen to Enclave, I've told Spades that I can lead if I must and I guess time will tell who will lead.
Title: Re: [IMPORTANT] resignation note
Post by: HitMan5523 on 27-07-2012
Just let him lead. I would rather have someone who loves the Enclave lead it.
Title: Re: [IMPORTANT] resignation note
Post by: Khorn on 28-07-2012
This is not about needing a leader, this is about the fact Enclave keeps dying because no one can stick to playing guard.

You need to find people that like playing military dick soldiers, people that will focus on Enclave, no other faction. Pilot can lead for all I care, but he won't be leading anyone if you don't find the right group of players for the faction. People will join, get bored, and leave.
Title: Re: [IMPORTANT] resignation note
Post by: Ket on 28-07-2012
Hmmhp...

Khorn is right, Enclave does need dedicated players, but for now...

Pilot can lead, but he's going to need an advisor.
Title: Re: [IMPORTANT] resignation note
Post by: pilot on 28-07-2012
Of course. If Spades approves the decision for me to be leader I will start looking for a serious dedicated player to be advisor. As for New Haven, I understand my actions before weren't the smartest, but you don't hear a lot about New Haven now do you? I am trying to change New Haven's reputation to something more professional. I mean New Haven is just playerbased none of it is canon, and I never believed that New Haven would ever become that populated. But, now that I am this close to being put the responsibility of a canon minor faction that players a major role in Fallout 2, It's a whole new game in the ballpark. I'm not going to take on Enclave single handily I'm going to have the CO ranks help me decide.
Title: Re: [IMPORTANT] resignation note
Post by: pilot on 28-07-2012
So...when are we going to decide all of this?
Title: Re: [IMPORTANT] resignation note
Post by: Khorn on 28-07-2012
Wait until after the server update thing Spades been going on about. I already decided to let you lead as you are the most wanting of it.

So this is all settle now, I'd suggest you start finding people you can depend on. And in general plan what you wish to do. When I can, I'll help you out.

Aye aye. You think I can get moderator rights to the Enclave board?
Title: Re: [IMPORTANT] resignation note

Talk to Spades been about that, I got no control here since he stupidly took it away some reason.
