Title: Overwhelmed
Post by: Th3Wastelander on 17-03-2012
Yo. I am a regular on the FORP server, and been wanting to try Crussaria, but I feel overwhelmed when I see all the info about the lore and stuff. Still think I should try it out? I really do; just worried my ignorance will get the best of me.

Most of the lore is simple stuff you will understand if you've ever watched anything about mythology. I never even read the lore before I started playing Crussaria and I was fine. Just keep a tab open and if anything pops up you don't know give it a quick read.

Crussaria is waiting for you. Go after it, son.

It's a custom world I and several others created from the ground up. It seems complicated, but once you get into it you will enjoy it alot more.

Well we are working on a new conflict atm which should simplifiy things and we don't have to force you to learn a thousand things.

That.

Although honestly if you were too lazy to learn you could just play as a peasant. They don't need to know anything.

That sounds rude.

It is true though.

The newer story being worked on (mostly by Plunger and Ravanger) revolves around noble infighting that should be pretty easy to grasp to anyone who knows how hereditary monarchs work.

Hey, I gotta agree with Paint, if you don't really want to read, then play as a peasant until you get a bit of the lore down. The only real lore you'd need to know in my opinion, is the religions. Though, with the new large event coming up, I doubt even that would be needed. Really, just hop on at any time, I'm normally checking the sever population every few minutes, hoping that someone I can RP with would get online. We are needing more people on CRP now more than ever, so jump on, see what you think, and please by all means, tell your friends about it.

The biggest problem about religions from what I've heard is that nobody cares to be a religious character. Crussaria is a medieval fantasy, and in medieval, everything was centered around God(s), yet players are scared to make a religious character, probably due to them being atheist.

That's because people are bad at making their character a different person than they are. That's why 99% of female characters are lesbian badasses because the 14 year old playing them "doesn't want people to think I'm gay or anything". But that's a slightly different topic.

Its basiclly the samething and issue thought painty. Yeah thats why I see Crussaria as a roleplay that takes a bit more to get into and it helps to be a experienced roleplayer as well as a good one.
The religons and stuff like that are a bit minor and so forth and you might do a little praying for passive if you see fit. The main focus of will be the poltical conflicts and then what players are doing amongst themselves when the poltical scene at the moment cools down and so forth.

In medieval times politics were heavily influenced by religion.

Exactly that. Though this is Crussaria RP so religion might not have such a strong influence but eh....
