Crussaria Guide & Backstory

What is Crussaria?

Crussaria is the term given to the landmass (continent) which holds the kingdom of Crussaria. Although in truth the kingdom is made up of several kingdoms which have merged together. There were 9 kingdoms in total each with their own dialect, culture and rulers however they were conquered and is now run as one monarchy instead. Crussaria has other landmasses (or continents) across the sea which are known as the outlands although lore is still to be thought about about said places. The centre point is focused on Crussaria and not on the other continents.

A good example of Crussaria would be to compare it to The Eldar Scrolls's universe continent of Morrowind. In TES there are other continents such as hammerfell. Likewise Crussaria is the same. However Crussaria is also the name of the Game also.

Our Roleplay (ATM) Is in Ravendale.

Houses in Crussaria

The houses in Crussaria make up rulers of the old kingdoms, minor factions and other dependencies. One house is the ruling house of the land where as the other houses serve that house since they were conquered. The houses are the main focus point and controling main factions of the game. The main houses still control their former kingdoms however they are under the realm's monarchy too. Essentially now dependent on one kingdom instead of being seperated into 9 different kingdoms.

Currency in Crussaria

The currency in Crussaria is made up of several different types of coinage. These are: Copper, Silver and Gold. These are generally refered to as "Dragons". However coinage does not reflect on an items worth. Copper\Silver\Gold is dependent on the materials they are made out of. If Gold is scarce then a Golden Dragon will be worth more. This same thing applies to Silver and Copper too.

They are basically a shortcut for bartering. You have coins to buy and sell with instead of goods to barter with. If you go up to a baker and want to trade him your sheep's wool for some bread, and he doesn't have a use for any wool then you have to find someone who does want the wool and who has something the baker will want.

If you can sell the wool to someone though, then you can just get the money from him to buy anything you need. Gold is a very valuable(meaning rare and useful) substance that is easy to transport in solid, unbreakable form, which makes it the perfect money for the Crussaria world. But because the gold is only worth however much anyone cares about it at the time, it is subject to varying degrees of worth depending on the social, political and ecological situation you're currently in.

They are, in effect, another use for exchanging instead of bartering goods.

Magic

Magic in the realm of Crussaria is scarce. Power is drawn from 'Wells'- a magic location which contain magic in the area, which regenerates via the demon realm. You can not physically go to the demonic realm, however they can come through demonic portals.

People do not know they are able to use magic before some sort of an event. Most of these are traumatizing events that unlock this potential inside them.

Magic users are locked away in a Cidital: A place for training them, if not controlling.

Magic is passed down by blood lines, so it is unexpected when a mage is found among the average populous.

Rouge mages are scarce, such actions are hunted down.

Demons
Demons can only cross between realms if their is a gate, portal, or Tunnel. These can only be opened by magic users. Such actions require an adept, and will only be open for a certain amount of time. The risk of opening a gate for a demon, is they might not keep their word. Further more, demons rely on magic to stay alive. Once the gate is closed, the magic is cut off from the mortal realm. This makes the demon forced to go through or die.

Tunnels are massive portals which take  time to form, once open any demon can enter the mortal realm. These are very dangerous and can be open for practically forever.

The Outlands
The Outlands is a dieing place. Full of Orcs, and creatures of various nature.

Gods

Each race has its own God, that they pray to. However, there are old gods.

The Shadow - The stranger, Death, The Loner, the one people pray to for death to come on them or others, or for guidance in suicide missions and such. He has no face, For it is either hidden or dark. He has no actual name. He is not 'Evil' but he is respected and feared. Any statue of him does not have a face.

Cybil - Godess of life, prosperity and love. This is the god people pray to for their loved ones, children, for prosperity of life animals and such) and that of love

Dathius - God of war - Warriors pray to him in their time of need, before battles to give them strength

Melelisana - The temptress Goddess - Considered evil, not many pray to this deity other than people who seek revenge or those who pray for a one night stand. Shrines for her are rare and few.

Tioen - God of Hate & Evil, all that is bad seeps to him and his realms. He is the father of orcs, orges and general "evil" creatures. He has many sons to who he has reserved them realms to which they may torture and control at their whim. They are called the Princes of Hate, his children. Each of their realms is shaped to their own personality. (Demon, but treated like a god due to power)

Races

Humans

Most of the inhabitant in Crussaria are human. They make up most of the populous of Crussaria.

Gods:

Palethon: God of light, Constantly fights the god of Dark. This is the god that is 'Good'.

Lithrill: God of darkness, Constantly fights the god of light. This is the evil god, (Think 'Bad'/Devil)

The main village is Ravendale.

Dwarfs

Each faction has clans, which specialize in certain trades. Gem craft, Masonry, and Forgery (Metal Working). Not the entire race is a single culture, And their lives vary. Some dwarfs do live above ground, and live such as the humans have. Building their houses of stone and wood, they have created that culture. Most, live below ground however. They choose to build massive labyrinths underground that resemble fortresses. Dwarven armor, and weapons are most sought out for their enhanced craftsmanship and reliability on the fields of combat.

Legend says, the forefathers of dwarfs were obsessed with gems, and precious metals. So, they began to mine.... And mine.... And mine. Before long, their whole culture switched to the mines. Their houses began to pop up inside the very tunnels they dug for the gems and metals. Their lives dedicated to the onslaught of digging through the earth.

God: Ragnovas
The dwarfen blessed each dwarf race with a gift. Each one of these gifts was different. Most got the ability to craft, or forge a certain item better then the other. One group however, only got greater intelligence. However, without a way to express this in a creative manor, they felt cheated by the god. These became the dark dwarves, which are a antaganist of normal dwarfs. Without a craft, they felt forsaken. They are against the normal dwarfen god and the other dwarfs themselves.

Natoli

The Natoli  are a sentient race. They all came from the outlands to Kingdom of Crussaria about 300 years ago and their orgin is unknown.

The Natoli are a more lizard like race, where their true orgin is we don't know, it's said that they're most likely coming from swamps and other more reptile adapative places. We do know that about 300 years ago they came from the outlands to the Kingdom of Crussaria as just poor refugees. But since then they've grown a lot, nowadays the Natoli are a prosperous race. They've managed to get a good position between the humans and the other races. Though even their good position in the society and their quite peacefull way of living they're still the race that's suffering under the most racial issues, especially with the humans. Their reptile like appearance makes them an easy target for this.

The Natoli are in general a quite agile race, maybe not as agile as the werewolves or other cat-like species but they sure get a second place. Being fast makes them perfect for stealthy operations. Next to that they have also developed a high resistance against poisons, diseases and the ability to breath underwater. Although just as smart as an average human, they tend to struggle with magic. Not many Natoli have magical abilities, and this may be due to their Ansestery. Although there has been a handful of mages from the group, most of them rather stick to the shadows or live a common life.

Edit: Magic is not their Fortay

Elves
Elves have one leader, a king. United under a government, they ruled the land for many centuries without fault. Over time the empire was sieged by outside forces, slowly diminishing their hold over the land. Only one small faction remains, untied under one king. They are mistrusted by the humans, however accepted as an equal of sorts.

The Elven God is Alleria: A God of nature.

Orcs

Two types of Orcs exist. There are the smart Orcs that have made a blood pact with the demons, which rule over other Orcs in the outlands. There are however tribes of Orcs in Crussaria. These tribes are not associated with the blood pact Orcs.

Goblins
More brutes then anything, These creatures have a lack of sense and mostly live in caves. Small tribes battle for land.

Creatures

Vampires

Once human, these beings thirst for blood. For the most part they are humans who have contracted the disease. They are seen as monsters, although some are able to communicate fine.

Werewolves
Once human, these beings are now monsters. Through a bite, this disease spreads. (WIP)

Kobolds

Kobolds are creatures seen as pests. They do nothing more then scrounge for money.

Banshee/Wraiths
An angered spirit that has yet to move on from the mortal realm. Banshees are female, cursing their subjects. Wraiths can be either gender (If distinguishable) And attack more head on.

These are the King's personal guard. Sworn to protect the King until death. (Not available to join)
